Ok, Artitwo, you say that Arcanine is the best stage 1 card. I dont think he
is. Niether is Charmeleon. This is way off subject but The best stage 1 card
there is is Gyarados. The only reason why you even can stand a chance to
Gyaradoses with Arcanine is because that person cant find any energy for
Gyarados or that Gyarados has 80 HP left. Gyarados will  kill Arcanine in one
hit. It will do 100damage to Arcanine with its weakness.  I will compare
Arcanine to Gyarados

HP: 100-100  Tie.
Stage: stage 1/stage 1  Tie
First attack: Both do 50 damage for 3 energy but Gyarados doesnt have to
discard any energy, Gyarados wins

Second attack: Arcanine does 80 damage and 30 damage to itself for 4 energy.
Gyarados does 40 damage for 4 energy with the chance of paralysis. Gyarados
wins

Weakness, Resistance and retreat cost: Gyarados has a weakness to Grass so
Scyther, Pinsir and Venomoth will easily kill it.  while Arcanine has a
weakness to Water types, both have a 3 retreat cost, Arcanine has no
resistance and Gyarados has a resistance to fighting so Hitmonlees and
Hitmonchans wont do much damage. Gyarados wins

So see, Arcanine is not the best stage 1 card. It is Gyarados.
