To oak or not to oak, that is the question.
Oaks are one of the best trainers. Seven cards on demand, with just the
discard of your hand. It can be a problem when to decide whether to oak or
not, so here are some tips and some decks to put them in.
Decks to put them in:
Haymaker-More basics, more power(even moreso in a Turbo Wiggly Hay)
Rain Dance-Keep those energies flowing for Blastoise
Curse-Get all of those Gengars out.
Decks not to put them in:
Stalls-The only exception here is a Wildfire stall, which could afford one
When to oak:
1. When you are in need of basics and/or energy
2. When you are potentially only one card away from a win
3. When you are behind and grasping for a comeback
4. When you want to get that evolution that you need or a Comp. Search to
get it.
5. When you can already win at the present turn anyway, but you just want to
annoy your opponent
When not to oak:
1. If your opponent runs a stall deck, and they are Impostering and/or
Wildfiring away your deck
2. If you have seven cards or less in your draw pile and cannot win at the
present turn with a certain card
3. If you have a key card in your hand that you cannot get back or cannot
acquire another copy of.
