In response to Justin Liang's article, I disagree and think Hitmonchan is just a little bit better than hitmonlee.  I respect your opinion but here are the reasons why hitmonchan is better:

    1. first turn attack- 20 damage for one energy great starting pokemon

    2. more verstatile- with 2 fighting, 1 colorless energy requierment for special punch (hitmonlee needs 3 fighting) fits better into most multi color decks especially haymakers which usually contain 2-3 types.

    3. 70 hp- although it is only ten points better consider these points- scyther (2 slashes kills hitmonlee, 3 needed to kill hitmonchan, and electabuzz- two failed thunderpunches can still kill hitmonlee but at least one heads needed, and what about blastoise (with 5 energies) or machamp or venusaur etc. can also kill hitmonlee in one hit, two turns needed for hitmonchan.  Also, only one attack I know of does 70- dugtrio' s earthquake, but he's barely ever seen in decks.  Well I guess you get my drift but the 10 hp between 60 and 70 can make a big difference. 

    4. And about the two energy retreat cost, one is a little better but who would want to retreat this guy except against psychic and pokemon birds, but u can always just add another energy it's no big deal.  (what's the deal with hitmonchan's higher retreat cost anyway, he only weighs 1 pound more than hitmonlee!)
