The Secrets of Poliwhirl


    This is a card that doesn't have a good rep, but it is effective.
Poliwhirl has 60 HP and two attacks. Now I know 60 HP isn't great, but he
can survive for a bit. He has one retreat cost, and weakness to grass. His
attack amnesia can actually be used to your advantage. If the defending
pokemon has only one attack or one attack that can threaten you you use
amnesia. It can be used as a stall attack till you get other pokemon out.
You can also think about it this way. If you are battling a charizard you
can stall with amnesia. If you can get successful flips with double slap you
can knock out a charizard with one double slap. It is also possible to build
a stall deck, not based on Mewtwo's barrier attack, but based on disabling
attacks and preventing damage. You could add a bunch of defenders and mr.
mimes with potions and a few dolls just for the heck of stalling for a
couple of turns.
