Hey, I have a good strategy for Venusaur.  Okay let's say you have Pokémon like Butterfree and Venomoth in play.  You have a Venusaur benched.  Your Butterfree is active.  You attack with mega drain, and then you retreat and bring out Venomoth.  You use Venomoth's Venompowder, and Retreat for butterfree and keep repeating the process.  You can pack the opponent's damage because your opponent keeps attacking a different pokémon each turn.  You can do this with like 4 Pokémon, and your opponent will have a hard time knocking out your Pokémon. But what if you do not have enough energy for every Pokémon??  Don't worry, your Venusaur can Transfer Energy to different Pokémon, and they will all be able to do their attacks with only 4 grass Energy on the table.  And another thing, Butterfree's Mega Drain can heal itself, so Butterfree is usually at full health.  You can transfer all of the energy to it and Pokécenter your team!  I would make a deck like this if I could.  I don't have enough Venusaurs.

 

Some other good free retreat Pokémon to use are Scyther and golbat.
