Hey Pojo!
I'm writing about Dragonfire5's article on Scyther vs. Kangaskhan.
First, he starts off by saying Scyther is the best card in the world.
"I am here to sincerely apologize for my last article about Scyther.
Scyther
is the best card in the world.
scroll down...
SORRY, BUT NO!!! SCYTHER STILL STINKS AND IM HERE ONCE AGAIN TO SHOW
HOW!!!"
Okay. You told us last time that you'd show us how. We're still waiting.
"Now, I am here to show you Kangaskhan vs. Scyther, and I intend to do
so.
In my last article, I said "Why not just use a colorless PKMN?" I got
a
loooooot of emails sayin that Farfetch'd was the only one close to being
as
good as scyther."
I agree. Farfetch'd is a very good card.
"Another one is: Kangaskhan. If you aren't swearing at your computer
screen
right now I'll tell you why."
Only good for stalling and card drawing.
"Now as we all know thanks to Hitmonchan (who besides his type is MUCH
better
than Scyther) one colored energy is worth about 15 (20 rounded) damage
and
one colorless is worth 10. So Scyther's attack is no better than a
Mankey's
Scratch or even a Magikarp's tackle. In case you didn't know, scyther's
attack is 3 colorless energies for 30. Magikarp and Mankey's are 1 for
10. A
colorless attack is supposed to do 20 rounded. Now Scyther's first
attack
makes his second attack do 30 more so it's like it does 30. that's 10
more
than average. Now that we have Scyther's attacks figured out, lets move
on
to Kangaskhan's."
WHAT????!!! How can you decide that 1 colourless (Yep, I'm from Canada!
=) ) is worth 20 damage? And 1 coloured is worth 10 damage? And how is
one colour better than the next? How did you get your math done. At
least you could've explained it, without splattering it in our faces and
saying "this is the TRUTH! Listen to my logic that I'mnever going to
explain!"
"Kangaskhan's first attack lets you draw a card for 1 energy. Thats good
for
raindance or any deck, really. Now his second attack for 2 DCE does 20 x
the
# of heads you get out of 4 flips. Now, an average out of that is 40.
Average
for 4 colorless energies. Just like Scyther's attack. But, if you get
lucky
you could get 20 or 40 more than average!!! BETTER THAN SCYTHER'S TEN
MORE
THAN AVERAGE!!! now you could get unlucky, but that's a risk you must
take.
And Scyther will only do the 10 more than average once. Kangaskhan can
do it
again and again."
But who likes to flip coins? At least with Exeggcutor, you can keep on
piling on energy and do that! And yet again, you do your logic-less
math. PLEASE EXPLAIN IT!
"Now HP. Scyther's 70 to Kangaskhan's 90. This one is
obvious. Kangaskhan's HP is better too."
Yes, but scyther can attack faster. And how likely are you going to get
2 DCE in your hand without fixing your deck b4 the match?
"Now for weakness and resistance.
Scyther is weak against fire. Not bad, not good. Magmar is his worst
energy.
Now Kangaskhan. He's weak against fighting. The dead type. Kangaskhan's
weakness is better."
But yet, at the beginning of your article, you state that Hitmonchan is
good. And it is. And if Fighting is a dead type, then how come decks
like viagra and strictly fighting decks win tourneys? Look at the killer
deck reports. Explain those, with logic.
"Now resistance. Scyther- fighting. The dead type.
Kangaskhan- Psychic! A very popular type! Kangaskhan wins that too."
Depends where you are! I run a psychic/water ER deck. Yes, psychic. But
what about Dark Golduck? He's water, but he does (for 2 psychic and 1
colourless)Super Psy, which gives a whopping 50 damage! So Kangaskahn's
resistance has no effect.
"now retreat. Yes, Scyther has free and Kangaskhan has 3. Scyther
finally wins a
round. But, all you have to do is put another energy on kangaskhan and
if
he's weak why would you want to send him back out?"
I don't understand your logic. What does putting an energy on K. have to
do with anything?
"Also, Kangaskhan helps any
deck. Scyther helps grass decks."
Look below scyther's first attack. Yeah. It's pretty good. More
dependable to do damage. Just a thought.
"Kangaskhan wins. Scyther stinks. the end."
Yet again, useless logic. You never did explain how K. was better!
"PS dont bash this article unless you don't have a life and have nothing
better to do."
I'm only bashing this article because I don't have anything better to
do. I totally and completely disagree with everything you said (except
for the HP), and cannot understand your logic.
Thanx for listening to me rant!
