For being a Pokémon fanatic for a while now, I know a popular card when I see
one, and Base Porygon is a definite NO!, but why? 30HP, can't do damage, and
with those bad conditions, don't put him in play, because if you do, you'll
have to either present your opponent with a prize or give up 1 Energy (it may
not seem that bad, but you don't want to give up any Energy unless it's worth
it). That may seem as if it's the way it is with this card, but it's really a
gem if you use it the right way. Before you send me hate mail, read this and
I think that will change:

Let's say it's Base Porygon vs. Base Blastoise, and the Porygon is yours. the
best Pokémon you've got on your bench is a Base Magmar, with 2 Fire Energy on
it. Blastoise needs 1 more Energy on it to finish Porygon off, but it's your
turn, and Porygon has no Energy on it. You attach one, and use Conversion 1
to change Blastoise's Weakness to Fire (is that right?). Blastoise then
Knocks Out Porygon, and you choose Magmar. Attach one of any Energy onto
Magmar, then use Flamethrower, and since Blastoise's Weakness is now Fire,
Flamethrower will Knock Out Blastoise in one hit.

Get the drill? This is only one of the situations where Porygon comes in
handy. If you don't have Porygon, get it, because you can get rid of some
really strong Pokémon.
