Dragonfire5, I have a couple of things to say about your article on
Scyther. For your information, I am not just a stupid follower or
Scyther worshipper, and I don't bash Charmander and Charmeleon, I find
them quite good. However, I totally disagree with your article. First
off, as Satoshi stated in his Dewgong vs. Pinsir article, you shouldn't
compare Pokemon that aren't the same stage, and as you know, Scyther and
Charmeleon are not the same stage. Second, how could you say a 70 HP
BASIC pokemon with RESISTANCE to fighting pokemon ( which answers the
question of why you shouldn't just use a colorless PKMN ), a colorless
attack and a free retreat cost stinks? To answer another of your
questions, ("If someone's good, why retreat him anyway?") MAYBE THAT
POKEMON HAS BEEN BATTLING IT OUT FOR TURNS AND TURNS AND HAS LITTLE HP
LEFT. Honestly, would you rather have your opponent take a prize?
Scyther gets out of the active spot easily and doesn't make you worry
about wasting precious energy. Third, even if it is unlikely to get the
required cards for Scyther to do 60 turn 2 in your opening hand, it is
even MORE unlikely to get a charmeleon to do THIRTY damage turn 2, as
you'd require even MORE cards to do less. Finally, there are search and
card drawing cards like Comp. Search and Prof Oak that allow you to get
that DCE needed to power Scyther turn 2. These cards make it so you
don't NEED a DCE in in your hand, you could search for it.

Untill next time POJO fans,
