Welcome to another strategy article by me, Skorne. Today,
we'll be looking at an unlikely stalling alternative; using steel energy to
help fossil graveler become a great staller. Here are the translations
of Fossil Graveler and Steel Energy, courtesy of Bret Larwick and Edo:
Name: Graveler
Type: Stage 1 -- from Geodude
Card #: card 37 of 62
Rarity: Uncommon
Color: Fighting
HP: 60 HP
Weakness: G
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2
Pokemon #: 75
Species: Rock
Level: 29
Attack: [FF] Harden
During your opponent's next turn, whenever 30 or less damage is
done
to Graveler (after applying Weakness and Resistance), prevent
that
damage. (Any other effects of attacks still happen.)
[FFC] Rock Throw (40)
Steel Energy
Type: Non-Basic Energy Card
Effect: This Energy card provides 1 S Energy.
If damage is done to the attached Pokemon by an attack, that
damage is reduced by 10.
If the attached Pokemon is not a Steel Pokemon, any damage
done by attacks of the attached Pokemon is reduced by 10.
Look at Graveler's attack for a little bit. It can
eliminate damage. With some steel energies attached to a graveler, it's
pretty hard to give graveler good, solid damage. With the maximum of
four steel energies, which would be -40 damage, attached to graveler, all
attacks that deal damage lesser than or equal to 70 would be useless.
This could be a great alternative to the traditional damage swap. . .
