Allright, I know most decks try to run a few evolutions as possible. Most of
today's top decks run one, or absolutely none. Ones such as TuffStuff,
Haymaker, and Potpourri. But since Team Rocket has come out, many new
Evolution decks are springing into play.

This article is about the most versatile evolution family. One making
multicolor evolution decks possible. This would be the family containing
Eevee and all of it's evolutions (referred to as "Eeveelutions"). And without
Further adieu, here's my article.

Jungle Set:

Eevee
Basic, Colorless Pokémon
50 HP
[C] Tail Wag -- Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon can't attack
Eevee during your opponent's next turn. (Benching either Pokémon ends this
effect.)
[CC] Quick Attack -- 10+ -- Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage
plus 20 more damage. If tails, this attack does 10 damage.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic (-30)
Retreat Cost: [C]

*Not bad for a basic, colorless Pokémon. Tail Wag is a decent, although not
great stall. Quick Attack is about par for it's cost. Retreat and HP are
average for an evolving basic.

Vaporeon
Stage-1 Water Pokémon (Evolves from Eevee)
80 HP
[CC] Quick Attack -- 10+ -- Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage
plus 20 more damage. If tails, this attack does 10 damage.
[WWC] Water Gun -- 30+ -- Does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each W
Energy attacked to Vaporeon, but not used to pay for this attack's Energy
cost. Extra W Energy after the 2nd doesn't count.
Weakness: Lightning
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: [C]

*Decent. The most HP of all Eeveelutions. A solid attacker, but slow to
charge up. A good splash Pokémon with Quick Attack. Retreat is great for a
Stage-1.

Jolteon
Stage-1 Lightning Pokémon (Evolves from Eevee)
70 HP
[CC] Quick Attack -- 10+ -- Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage
plus 20 more damage. If tails, this attack does 10 damage.
[LLC] Pin Missile -- 20x -- Flip 4 coins. This attack does 20 damage times
the number of heads.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: [C]

*One of the best Electric evolutions. Pin Missile can be a painful attack,
and if you're lucky with a coin, very cost effective. You average 40 damage
per turn, and for two colored and one colorless energy, that's decent. Good
splasher with Quick Attack.

Flareon
Stage-1 Fire Pokémon (Evolves from Eevee)
70 HP
[CC] Quick Attack -- 10+ -- Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage
plus 20 more damage. If tails, this attack does 10 damage.
[RRCC] Flamethrower -- 60 -- Discard 1 R Energy card attached to Flareon in
order to use this attack.
Weakness: Water
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: [C]

*The most painful Flamethrower in the game. That extra 10 damage often spells
the end for many Pokémon. The added colorless energy cost is made up for by
the sheer extra strength. As with all Jungle Eeveelutions, a good splasher
with Quick Attack.

Team Rocket Set:

Eevee
Basic, Colorless Pokémon
40 HP
[C] Tackle -- 10
[CC] Sand-attack -- 10 -- If the Defending Pokémon tries to attach during
your opponent's next turn, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, that attack
does nothing.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic (-30)
Retreat Cost: [C]

*Not bad. Lower HP than the Jungle Eevee, but more solid attacks. It's
Sand-attack will help stall until it evolves. Not all that bad.

Dark Vaporeon
Stage-1 Water Pokémon (Evolves from Eevee)
60 HP
[CCC] Bite -- 30
[WWC] Whirlpool -- 20 -- If the Defending Pokémon has any Energy cards
attached to it, choose 1 of them and discard it.
Weakness: Lightning
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: [C]

*Not bad, but no where near good. Bite is a decent colorless attack, and
Whirlpool is okay, but the lack of a one or two energy attack assures this
one a permanent home in the shoe box.

Dark Jolteon
Stage-1 Lightning Pokémon (Evolves from Eevee)
50 HP
[L] Lightning Flash -- 20 -- If the Defending Pokémon tries to attack during
your opponent's next turn, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, that attack
does nothing.
[LLC] Thunder Attack -- 30 -- Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is
now paralyzed. if tails, Dark Jolteon does 10 damage to itself.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: [C]

*Lightning Flash is the best one energy attack in the game. Thunder Attack is
decent, although not really worth the risk of dealing damage to yourself with
the small 50 HP. A good, all around Pokémon.

Dark Flareon
Stage-1 Fire Pokémon (Evolves from Eevee)
50 HP
[C] Rage -- 10+ -- Does 10 damage plus 10 more damage for each damage counter
on Dark Flareon.
[RR] Playing with Fire -- 30+ -- Use this attack only if there are R Energy
cards attached to Dark Flareon. Flip a coin. if heads, discard 1 of those
Energy cards and this attack does 30 damage plus 20 more damage.  If tails,
this attack does 30 damage.
Weakness: Water
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: [C]

*One of my personal favorites. Playing With Fire is either a Fire Punch or a
less expensive Flamethrower. Either way it is powerful for it's cost. And
Rage is a nice going-away present for when Dark Flareon has 40 damage. A
beautiful card that will help any Fire deck.

Promotional Cards:

Eevee
Basic, Colorless Pokémon
30 HP
Pokémon Power: Chain Reaction -- When a Pokémon evolves, you may search your
deck for an evolution of Eevee and play it on Eevee. This counts as evolving
Eevee. (This Power stops working if Eevee is asleep, confused, or paralyzed.)
[C] Bite -- 20
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic (-30)
Retreat Cost: [C] (Possibly the retreat is free. I do not have a copy of the
card to go by.)

*This card is very interesting. The 30 HP is a liability, but his decent
attack and awesome Pokémon Power make up for it a bit. If you or your
opponent evolves, Eevee evolves. Plain and simple. It makes running multiple
Eeveelutions a breeze. It may work for some people, although I prefer the
Team Rocket Eevee.

Yikes, that was longer than I thought! Well, you now have a complete review
of all Eevees and Eeveelutions currently released in America. Multicolor
decks running Fire, Water, or Lightning should really take a second look at
these awesome cards. Most players will simply shove these in a shoe box or
flip right by their pages in a binder. But when used correctly, the Eevee
families can be mixed and matched to take on must any threat. Want to run
Fire, but worried about Rain Dance decks? Shuffle in a couple of Jolteon
backed up by Electabuzz and you have something to be feared. Love your water
deck, but lightning giving you a hard time? Add some Flareon, and watch as
lightning's relatively low HP falls before Fire's awesome attacking power.

So please, do not simply skip over these cards any longer. Take the time to
look them over and see what combos and strategies you can come up with on
your own. As time goes on, things you didn't think were good become great.
Snorlax now has a deck built around his Pokémon Power. Psychic's have a new
Hit and Run Pokémon with the awesome Dark Alakazam. Even Porygon got a
revamp, that actually makes him playable.

And remember--Never overlook the hidden power within a card. Eevee, that
cute, fluffy little Pokémon, turns into some of the most deadly Pokémon in
the game.

Thanks for taking the time to read my article.
