For those of you who don't know, we Nintendo Power
subscribers, some time ago, got a special promo Mewtwo
card in our issues. I love this card! It combos well
with Base-Set Mewtwo. Here's what the NP Mewtwo has:
1 Psy Energy - ENERGY CONTROL Flip a coin. If heads,
choose 1 energy card attached to one of the opponent's
pokémon. Attach it to another one of your opponent's
pokémon. (Basically, you move energy around)
3 Psy Energy - TELEKENESIS Choose one of your
opponent's pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to it
(don't apply weakness and resistance).
This card ROCKS! Here's why.
Gets past Dragonair's Psychic resistance
Can hit any of the other guy's monsters (even those on
the bench). Who needs Gust of Wind?
Combos well with Base-Set Mewtwo. Here's why.
Use NP Mewtwo's Energy Control (hope you can flip
heads OK) a lot. Then switch in Base-Set Mewtwo. Use
Psychic. Repeat the process.
Reasons it can also be bad...
Mr. Mime destroys him
Can't take advantage of Psychic weaknesses
Coin flip for Energy Control
Set damage (30)
If you play him well, however, you could build a whole
deck based on him.
