I've seen my favorite lizard get trash-talked for a long time(yeah, his line
is my all-time favorite), and I figured I had better stick up for him. His
Pokemon Power is what makes him flexible with two combos, or 3 in the late
future.
1)Double Colorless Energy:
This powers Char' up for 2 Energy instead of one, but his
attack makes
you discard 2 CARDS(not 2 Energy) sadly, making this an unreliable and
ineffective combo.
2)Venusaur
Venusaur can transfer G wherever he wants on your side of the
play area,
and Char' turns it all into F. This is the combo I use in my Undertaker
deck(see Dux garage), and I've used it to stomp everything I've encountered.
It's only lost 4 times, twice to Raindance(my friend always gets initiative
against me), once to an expert player's Ferocious Commons(what can you do
with a Magmar, taken down turn 2 by Staryu!), and I'm sure it would wither
against a PsychStall w/ Mr. Mime(though Magmar could beat him, I guess).
3)Blastoise+Energy Circulate
This is something I thought of a long time ago, but
dismissed. Raindance
would be better in an all Water deck.
Oh yeah, I forgot: ALWAYS PLAY PLUSPOWER WITH CHARIZARD. You never know when
you need to kill Chansey in one turn, and remember, the point of the
Trans-Burn combo is speed victory. Char's smaller forms could use a boost to
get the job done.
And finally, my Insane Evo Deck, which will never work because of all the
high evoloutions and needed trainers(and might be incorrect, according to
rules... does burnt energy stay burnt?).
4 Charmander
1 Charmeleon
2 Charizard
4 Bulbasaur
1 Ivysaur
2 Venusaur
4 Cyndaquil
1 Magumarashi (Promo)
2 Bakufan (Promo)
4 Scyther
4 Energy Circulate
4 Invisible Wall
4 Pokemon Breeder
4 Pokemon Trader
I won't list the rest, it is variable. Venusaur adds flexibility, then we
bring out Char'. When we get out Baku', Trans to Char', Circulate to Baku',
and play Wall to protect your bench. If you know what Bakufan does, you'll
understand the deck, but all of you should realize how it will never work.
