Hi Pojo!
I have been going to your site five or more times per week for three
months, and it is obviusly the best place for Pokemon on the web.
Anyway, here is my write up on Dark Vileplume, Dark Gloom, and TR
Oddish.
G Basic Pokemon
Oddish 50 HP
G Sleep Powder-The Defending Pokemon is now Asleep. D:0
G Poisonpowder-The Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned. D:0
Weakness:Fire
Resistance:N/A
Retreat Cost:CC
This Oddish is pretty useful. Although it doesn't do damage, it will
leave your opponent helpless (Sleep Powder) or having a steady HP loss
(Poisonpowder). The Fire Weakness really doesn't matter. If you're
making a Grass deck, you'll have to deal with it. The Retreat Cost
kills both his attacks, but they aren't very much to lose, are they?
You might want to use the old Oddish instead, but if it
ends up on your bench, you shouldn't start crying.
Good Trainer Combinations:
Oddish+Gust of Wind
(Paralyze all of your opponent's Pokemon)
Rating (1-10):4
(The fact that it doesn't do damage kept it from getting a higher
rating)
G Stage 1, Evolves from Oddish
Dark Gloom 50 HP
Pokemon Power:Pollen Stench-Once during your turn (before your attack)
you may flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Confused.
If heads, your Active Pokemon is now Confused. This power can't be used
if Dark Gloom is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
GG Poisonpowder-The Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned. D:10
Weakness:Fire
Resistance:N/A
Retreat Cost:CC
Dark Gloom is a substantial improvement from the TR Oddish, but i would
just use it as a transition to Dark Vileplume. Pollen Stench is pretty
good, being able to confuse the enemy, but can really hurt you if you
get a tails. Dark Gloom's Poisonpowder is better, and actually does
damage. It's nice that the opponent is guaranteed to be Poisoned.
About the Fire Weakness, it's just like I said with TR Oddish, you have
to deal with it. The Retreat Cost would wipe out his only attack, but I
usually don't bother to retreat. I would only put in my deck to use
Dark Vileplume, but that's just my opinion.
Good Trainer Combinations:
Dark Gloom+Pluspower
(Make Poisonpowder hurt)
Dark Gloom+Gust of Wind
(Same reason as TR Oddish)
Rating (1-10): 6
(With a couple Pluspowers, Dark Gloom can really dent up someone's HP)
G Stage 2, Evolves from Dark Gloom
Dark Vileplume 60 HP
Pokemon Power:Hay Fever-No Trainer cards can be played. This power
stops working while Dark Vileplume is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
GGG Petal Whirlwind-Flip 3 coins. This attack does 30 damage times the
number of heads. If you get 3 or more heads, Dark Vileplume is now
Confused (after doing damage). D:30x
Weakness:Fighting(?)
Resistance:N/A
Retreat Cost:CC
Finally, someone dependable! 60 HP isn't so great, but one of the below
Trainer Combos will fix that. Wait! Hay fever Won't let you use
Trainers! Well, at least your opponent has to deal with that too. If
you have a Slowbro in your deck, Strange Behavior can help here. His
attack is nice, with a potential of 90 damage. Not many Uncommons will
stand up to that, and neither will a few Rares for that matter! The
Fighting Weakness was a real surprise, and at last the Fire types have
lost their potency. Dark Vileplume looks pretty promising, so give him
a try!
Rating (1-10):8
(90 is one of the best damage totals, and 60 isn't bad. The HP could be
better, but Fire types don't hurt so much)
Thank you for reading my Single Card strategy for Dark Vileplume and his
earlier stages. And remember, FLOWER POKEMON ROCK!!!!!!!!
