Today Pokemon Review will discuss Venomoth
Known for its deadly arsenal of poisonous substances, Venomoth can be
capable of serious damage. Despite this, is Venomoth a pokemon to be feared?

Venomoth is the Stage 1 pokemon of the Venonat evolution line. Though many
dismiss it as a weak pokemon, Venomoth can be quite disruptive. With its
striking poisonous techniques it can totally destroy the Defending Pokemon
with a little luck.
70 HP for a Stage 1 pokemon is considerably decent. It's enough to withstand
damage until Venomoth can fulfill its purpose, which is to dazzle and poison
the Defending Pokemon.
Unlike many other pokemon, Venomoth has a Pokemon Power. Its Pokemon Power
otherwise known as Shift is used to inflict more damage to the Defending
Pokemon. This Pokemon Power allows Venomoth to change its type which is
Grass to the type which the Defending Pokemon is weak against. Hence, when
it attacks, the damage inflicted is doubled. Please note that some pokemon
don't have any weaknesses, rendering Shift to be useless.
Venomoth wouldn't be Venomoth without poison attacks which its reputation is
built up upon. Its only attack is Venom Powder which inflicts 10 damage to
the Defending Pokemon, 20 damage if the Pokemon Power is used. Appearances
can be deceiving as this attack has status effects and could render the
Defending Pokemon begging for a Full Heal or Retreat.
Venom Powder can inflict two conditions which is poisoning and confusion. If
you get heads, these will take effect and the opponent could be receiving
heaps damage after each turn. 10 damage is inflicted for poisoning after
each attack and your opponent will then find that their attacks are no
longer guaranteed and that their pokemon will take a further 20 damage for
failed attacks.
Furthermore, if the Defending Pokemon attempts to retreat they must discard
the Retreat Cost and flip a coin. If tails they receive the standard 20
damage and will have to deal with the fact that they discarded energy cards
for nothing. Hence, Venom Powder could also reach energy cards.
Venomoth is quite sound in defense. It has a weakness to Fire Pokemon but
its status altering attacks could defeat them. Resistance to Fighting
Pokemon is expected for flying pokemon but none the less a good resistance.
And with no Retreat Cost, make it a worthwhile pokemon.
Unless you have a bad streak of tails, Venomoth is destructive to Defending
Pokemon. It has a Pokemon Power, poisoning and confusing capability, energy
card wasting ability and no Retreat Cost. All of which go towards its
excellent use. So therefore, Venomoth is not a pokemon to be underestimated.
Bad coin flippers had better be careful.
