Hello all! Chibi Xelloss here for another strategy!(Well, tecnically...this
is my first one, so sue me x.o;) Today I will be talking about Snorlax, which
is a pretty neglected card(and has every right to be until the release of
Rocket). For those who don't know what Snorlax does, here's the listing:
Snorlax
Basic Pokemon: 90 Hp
Pokemon Power: Thick Skinned
This Pokemon can't be asleep, confused, paralysed, or poisoned. This power
stops working is Snorlax is asleep, confused, paralysed, or poisoned.
Body Slam: 30
Flip a coin, if heads Defending Pokemon is paralysed.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic -30
Retreat cost: 4 colorless
Now, the Pokemon Power is pretty good, has high hp for a basic, and Body Slam
is a so-so attack, but the retreat cost is murderous! Besides, there are much
more basic colorless pokemon to go with than the Fat One. But, it's the
Rocket expansion that enhances this pokemon. Rocket Drowzee has a pokemon
power that works from the bench that reads:
Long Distance Hypnosis: You can use this once per turn(before you attack).
Flip a coin. If heads, the defending pokemon is now asleep. If tails, your
defending pokemon is now asleep.
..and Dark Gloom has a similar pkmn power that swaps sleep for confusion. Can
you see the possibilities? If you have Snorlax out and Rocket Drowzee\Dark
Gloom on your bench, you can flip to check for sleep and confusion each turn!
And Snorlax is unaffected by it from thick skinned too! Also, if you're
running Dark Vileplume too, that shuts down those pesky Gusts of Wind along
with anything they can do to stop the status ailments! ^^ Hope this helps!
