As I was looking through my "Team Rocket Strategy and Card Guide" from
the recent Top Deck, I noticed what a good combo Blastoise and Dark
Gyarados make. This combo mainly deals with both of their PKMN Power.
PKMN Powers:
Blastoise: Rain Dance: As often as you like during your turn, you may
attach 1 water energy to one of your Poke'mon (This does not use up your
1 energy per turn.)
Dark Gyarados: Final Beam: When Dark Gyarados is Knocked Out by an
attack, flip a coin, if heads this power does 20 damage for each water
energy attached to Dark Gyarados to the Poke'mon that Knocked Out Dark
Gyarados. Apply weakness and resistance.
Of course both powers can't be used if the Poke'mon are asleep, confused
or paralyzed.
If you haven't figured out the combo yet let me tell you.
Of course, you have both Blastoise and Dark Gyarados in play. Dark
Gyarados is your active and Blastoise is on the bench. You load Dark
Gyarados up with water energy From Blastoise's PKMN Power. When Dark
Gyarados is Knocked Out you have a 50/50 chance of using the Final Beam.
The Flip Results:
Heads: The power does 20 damage for every water energy you put on Dark
Gyarados and Knocks Out the Poke'mon that knocked out Dark Gyarados!!
(Depending if you put on enough energy to equal what is needed to knock
it out.)
Tails: Nothing, you bring out another Poke'mon or your opponent draws
their last prize and wins.
Tip: Don't use this when your opponent has one prize left, he/she wins
first thing after Dark Gyarados is K.O.ed.
