Okay, this article pretty much sums up why I hate the point system. I applaude
SNYG182, Souper, and Satoshi for banding together and responding to the bad
comparisons. You know, the Pokegym never has this problem. Nor did they have
to tear down their forum. Maybe if we stopped this exhibition of stupidity, we
would be a much better site. Huh? How 'bout it?
I
would like to modify SNYG182's article by adding more reasons:
5. Most people compare two different stages.
(i.e. Stage two vs. Basic) This you can't do. It's like comparing an apple
with an oak tree.
6. Most people compare cards that have nothing
to do with each other. (We've all seen that before, haven't we guys? (-: )
7. The point system doesn't take into account
that one factor has to be made really bad if all other factors are great or
else the card would be broken. (For example: Mr. Mime's 40 HP. If Mr.
Mime had 60 HP, he MIGHT be broken. Let alone if he had 120....)
8. Sometimes the catergories are opinionated,
are based on your personal tourney environment, or in any case staked so that
it is unfair for one pokemon.
9. YOU CAN'T COMPARE CHARIZARD AND (fill in the
blank)!!! THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!
10. This fits in with No. 8. Too many criterias
are on attacks. Stallers are at a disadvantage.
11. Too many people are comparing cards that
are similar, but are made for different themes.
12. Too many people compare the big three,
whether that is Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard, or Hitmonchan, Electabuzz
and Scyther.
(FYI: Originally, articles that contained NO. 5, 9, and 12 were banned. I've
found that the Pojo should stick to the rules that they set. Not that Scott
isn't doing an excellent job, I just wanted to get that in the open. No
offense, Scott.)
13. The results are based on the author's choice, not the cards themselves.
14. NUMBERS DON'T WORK!!!!!
Okay, that's
enough. There are more reasons, but I'm tried of typing.
