Since the creation of my Four Wheel Drive deck, I thought of sharing some
tips on maximizing your performance. Let's take a look at the more heavily
used cards:

Pokemon

Hitmonchan Ups-standard 70 Haymaker favorite;Quick 20 damage and powerful 40
damage attack;most electric and colorless pokemon are weak to fighting.
Downs-Since the introduction of Fossil, there are so many
fighting reisitant pokemon out there that fighting should be used very little
or none at all; 2 energy retreat cost;weak to psychic; no status effects.

Electabuzz Ups-another haymaker favorite;has 70hp;can paralyze; can deal up
to 40 damage with 2nd attack;almost nothing is resistant to electric;great
against some water and colorless pokemon.
            Downs-2nd attack may damage itself;2 energy retreat;dangerous
weakness to fighting.

Scyther Ups-the most versatile pokemon;colorless attack allows it to fit in
any deck;70hp, above average for a grass basic;zero retreat cost;excellent
starting active 'mon;nothing is reistant to grass;resistant to fighting;great
early staller.
Downs-Weakness to fire;Mr. Mime cannot be damaged by Scyther.

Mr.Mime Ups-poke power prevents attacks above 20;low 1 energy retreat; nearly
or completely stops raindance decks;meditate is a great finisher;weakness to
psychic makes it nearly impossible for psychic pokemon to damage Mime.
Downs-low 40 hp;poison attacks 20 damage or below can easily knock
Mime out.

Fossil Magmar Ups-70hp;1st attack gives 50% of no damage next turn;2nd attack
can poison;low 1 energy retreat;cheap attacks;no pokemon is resistant to fire.
                Downs-Weakness to water

Kangaskhan Ups-fetch is simple and cheap;whopping 90hp;resistance to psychic
helps stalls even more;can fit in any deck.
            Downs-weakness to fighting;comet punch is costly and unreliable;
very high 3 energy retreat;limited abilities usually only lets most players
to use only one.

Chansey Ups-huge 120hp;scrunch can help stall even longer;resistance against
psychic;HUGE 2nd attack;low 1 energy retreat cost;can be used in any deck.
        Downs-weakness to fighting;second attack damages itself;scrunch
doesn't prevent status effects;slow speed makes this guy limiting.

Ponyta Ups-good fast metagame against grass;no resistance against fire;
sacrificable;low 1 enery retreat.
Downs-weakness to water;40hp;very limiting,so only one is usually used.

Trainers

Bill Ups-must have;3-4 in a deck;lets you boost 2 turns ahead;no drawbacks.

Professor Oak Ups-gets you a new hand;gets to the cards you need more quickly.
Downs-Having 4 or using Oak too late in the game may result of
decking;you must discard all of your remaining cards in your hand.

Scoop Up Ups-Your basic pokemon returns to your hand undamaged.
Downs-You must discard all cards attached to it's basic form,
including evolutions,energy, and trainers.

Super Energy Removal Ups- 2 of energies of one of your opponent's 'mon are
discarded;sets your opposition back 2 turns unless it's raindance;may render
your opponent helpless.
Downs- You must discard an energy off one of your pokemon.

Gust of Wind Ups-Brings out energyless or damaged pokemon into active slot;
helps stall; helps get an easier kill;no drawback unless you bring out the
wrong pokemon.

ItemFinder Ups- brings back any trainer you discarded/used;use a trainer one
more time.
Downs-you must discard 2 cards from your hand.

PlusPower Ups-does 10 more damage to the defending pokemon;knocks out pokemon
wit'10 left after original damage.

Computer Search Ups-Look for any card in your deck;may change the entire game
around to your favor.
Downs- You must discard 2 cards from your hand;a key card
might be in your prizes instead.

Energy Retrieval Ups- Brings back 2 basic energies to your hand. Use at least
1 in your deck.
Downs- you must trade a card in your hand.
Playing Tips
First, always put Scyther as your starting active. It's retreat will cost
you nothing, then you can either keep it up there or retreat for a more
appropriate pokemon. If you didn't draw any Scythers, then depending on which
pokemon you have, put Kangaskhan,Chansey,or Magmar up. If you know these are
bad choices against your opponent, then put whatever's most appropriate in
your situation. Always pay attention to your opponent's weaknesses and
resistances.  This 'ill get you the idea of what to put up against his/her
active. Also, pay attention to the remaining hp of pokemon and their attacks.
If you're in an energy shortage or not gettin' the energy you need, try to
stall by gusting out slow pokemon or removaling their energy.
Scythers,'Buzzes, and Mimes are going to be the most heavily used pokemon in
all potpourri decks.  'Buzz will be your heaviest and quickest hitter
usually, along with 'Chan and sometimes Scyther.
Mr. Mime will be a good finisher against any softened up pokemon. Chansey's
and Kangaskhan's hp make them ideal stallers in the beginning. In addition,
Chansey can be pumped for some double-edging fun, and Kangaskhan can increase
your card drawing power.

Against Certain Decks

Gay...er..Haymaker- This deck may pose a bit of a problem, but traditional
Haymakers simply can't defeat an experienced potpourri player. Use
'Buzz/Ponyta/Magmar to deep fry Scythers. Against 'Buzzes, use your 'Chan/
Buzz.  'Chans can be easily taken by Scyther. If there's some Farfetch'd in
there, simply used 'Buzz and roast that duck for dinner.

Gay..er..Raindance- You're gonna rely on 'Buzz,Scyther, and Mime heavily. Put
Mime against the big guys like Articuno and Blastoise, but never against
Lapras. Lapras can screw Mime over.Use Scyther against grass weakened 'mon
like Gyarados and Poliwrath. If your opponent doens't have lapras then you
can simply stall them or exploit his/her pokemons' weaknesses the hard at
painful way.

Mono Grass- Roast that Venomoth as quickly as possible! He can make any
pokemon sick to the brain easily. Then go for Pinsir. ERs and SERs can be
devastating against gr-@#$. Electric and Fire proves to be the best way to
deal wit' grass. Be careful when approaching Venusaur, an active Mime will be
your salvation against it.

Speed 'Tuff- Go for the Jigglies before they turn into Wigglies!  This deck
usually doesn't carry any or very little enery removals since getting out
'Tuff is it's first priority.  Only use Mime against damaged 'Tuffs, since
they have resistance against psychic. Hitmo can take on 'Tuff more easily
than any other poke.

Aero-Haymaker- This is just a haymaker variant. There are different ways to
win against this deck. First, let your opponent evolve the fossil into
aerodactyl, as long as you can get a Scyther ready to slash it. Or you can
simply prevent your opponent from gettin' Aero out by just killing off his
fossils.

Psychic Bench Destruction- A new devastating deck since the introduction of
Fossil. It uses the Gengar to move and kill off weakened benched pokemon.
This deck may also include Hypno as an active to cause even more carnage.
Your priorities are to kill off the Gastlies before they get to evolve. Don't
even bring 'Chan out 'cause he'll just be an easy pickin' for your
opposition. If Haunter's active , try to gust it away for a different poke,
if possible. Hit'em wit' all ya got using 'Buzz and Scyther.
Use Mime only against pokes within "meditate range."  This can be a difficult
deck to defeat if you don't keep a steady offense.

Invisible Stall- Psychic stall deck. Try to kill away those abras before they
evolve into 'Kazams. If you've got a Chansey or Kangaskhan, pump it up and
gust out 'Kazam. Once you get rid of those 'Kazams, the next hardest to get
rid of is Mime. Use 'Mar or 'Buzz. Use those gust of winds wisely, only to
make a kill or do some HEAVY damage. DESTROY Moltres on sight!!! Don't give
that bird a chance!!

Mono Fire- Scyther will get deep fried against this deck. Mr. Mime is your
best bet against this deck,UNLESS fossil magmar's active. Vulpix also posses
a huge threat to Mime. Energy removals are the best way to go.

Well...that's all I can think of about using this deck. Be sure to try it
wit' different pokemon to see which particular ones fit your fancy. I've seen
some very original potpourries poppin' up now, using different types. Those
listed above are the most popular cards for potpourri. Still searching for
the 3rd Scyther of the my deck...this is Johnny sigining out.
