Hey Pojo!!  Zero here.  I want to talk about decks.  At Toy'R'Us today
my friend Mr. Fun played a kid who used Shellder.  SHELLDER!!!!  I have
1 question, WHHHYYY?  That Pokémon cannot do any damage.  This game is
about Pokémon selections people.  I don't want a Porygon in my BATTALING
deck.  They don't dom anything.

1. First things first.  The Basic Pokémon.  There are mainly 2 ways to
play Pokémon: Battaling and stalling.  First you pick which way you
want.  Stalling in my opinion is a very poor way of winning but it is
also very funny when your opponent needs 1 more card in their deck to
beat you and yov haven't picked up any prizes.  That happened to my
friend before.  I thought that was sorta funny and cheap.  So, I
obviously pick Battaling.  You need Pokémon that can fight.  With
tournament experience, I notice that the player who has Pokémon that do
QUICK DAMAGE works best.  What I mean by that is, Pokémon that do alot
of damage for 1-2 energy cards is quick but efficient damage.  Mainly
Electabuzz, Ditto, Fossil Magmar, and this list extends but is not a
long one.  The next thing I look for in a Pokémon is Hp.  A POKéMON WITH
LITTLE HP WILL LAST A LITTLE TIME.  My cut off is 50.

2.  Second on the agenda, Pokémon types.  Most types have weak basics
and weak basics have less hp and less hp..... you know what I said.
Some of the best types are Fire, Electric, and Psychic.  FIGHTING WOULD
HAVE BEEN ON THIS LIST BUT THAT WAS BEFORE THE GREAT ONE OF POKéMON
CAME, SCYTHER.  Scyther killed fighting.  EVERYONE uses it.  Psychic has
gotten WAY stronger than it has been.  With the edition of promos,
jungle, and fossil, Psychic has evolved greatly.  Electric has been the
same since Electabuzz 1st came out in the Base Set.  Jungle and Fossil
have given Electric little help since then but with jungle Pikachu and
Base Raichu, it is exceptional.  Fire has always been alright.  Base
Magmar lacked Hp and the retreat cost was too high.  I reccommend the
Fossil Magmar than the Base set one.  That pretty much wraps up fire.

3. Next, Trainers.  A DECK WITHOUT TRAINERS IS VERY LIEKLY TO LOSE.
Trainers give you a chance to remove damage counters, gust up that weak
Pokémon on your opponent's bench and so on.  Trainers will really
improve your deck.  You have to figure out which works best (If you
e-mail me, I will give you a list  :)

That's all, keep playing and keep stratagizing.
