Bater: I don't know if you'll post this or not, and you may already know
about it.  In my opinion, the only reason Scatter! Sticky Gas! was made
was to counter one card:
TR Set Vileplume.

Scatter! Sticky Gas! Disables all Pokemon Powers of all pokemon in
play.  (Some say it takes a coin flip, but I'm not sure about that.)

Here is the Apprentice Patch translation of TR Set Vileplume:

Pokemon Power: Allergy Pollen: When this card is in play, neither player
may play Trainer cards.  This power stops working while Vileplume is
asleep, confused or paralyzed.

The rest doesn't matter for the purposes of this article.

    TR Vileplume is used in what I call my 'Ultimate End' Staller.
Except under a few conditions, the Ultimate End decks I made on
Apprentice (which is a great program, by the way) are almost
unbeatable.  But they all have one or two flaws or counter cards that
prevent them from being invincible.

    This Stall Deck uses Alakazam, Mr. Mime, and TR Vileplume to prevent
trainer use and to deck the opponent.  But how do you get rid of the
damage?  You can't use trainers either, right?  One word: Tentacool.  2
Tentacool alternating (one takes the damage and goes to your hand, on
the same turn the other one comes out) can prevent any damage from ever
occurring.  The Gust of Wind has no power with Vileplume out.  Sounds
unstoppable, right?  I wish!

    Muk is even better at stopping this deck than the sticky gas, but
the trainer can be put in any deck.  The other flaw is the time it may
take to get out all the pokemon you need to get the combo to work.  5
Pokemon, 2 of which are Stage 2s, need to be put out to get it going.
You may think you can just use card drawing to get them, but in a
staller you usually don't want to stall in order to deck yourself....

Hitmonchan.
