I think we ALL know about Base Set Charizard.

Rareness: Oh yeah.
Card Pic: Cool.
Battle Moves: Sweet!
HP: 120...Awesome!
Weakness: Water, not that bad.
Easily Beaten: Ummm...

Now why did I say that?  Yeah, we ALL know how cool Charizard is.  But if you
think about it, he can be beaten.  Probably all of you are thinking about the
Fire Spin attack, which uses 4 Fire Energy and does 100 damage.  You might
also be thinking about that 120 HP.  Who cares about that 120 HP?  There are
PLENTY of cards that could beat the popular Base Charizard.  Here they are:

JUNGLE CLEFABLE (uses Metronome)
This has to be one of the BEST Pokemon to beat Base Charizard.  Metronome
uses 1 Energy when the original attack uses 4 Fire Energy!!  You also don't
have to discard ANY Energy cards.  Let's say Base Charizard and Jungle
Clefable are in battle with NO Energy attached to either card and NO damage
done to either card.  Clefable goes first and attaches 1 Energy.  It uses
Fire Spin (Metronome) and does 100 damage to Charizard.  Charizard attaches
an Energy on his turn.  He can't use his attack yet.  On Clefable's turn, he
doesn't attach any Energy and uses Fire Spin (Metronome) again.  Bye bye
Charizard!
NOTE: Clefairy also has this attack, but Clefable's Energy Cost for Metronome
is only 1 Energy when Clefairy's is 3.

ROCKET BLASTOISE (uses Hydrocannon)
Ahh, a Dark Blastoise.  This is great only if you can use this attack to its
full potential.  If it does, it would do 70 damage.  Since Charizard has a
Weakness to Water types, the damage would double.  That means 140 damage
against 120 HP.  Charizard is as dead as a doornail.  This attack will ONLY
work if Charizard can't use his attack (not enough Energy).  Remember,
Charizard's Fire Spin does 100 damage when Dark Blastoise only has 70 HP.

BASE POLIWHIRL (uses Doubleslap)
If you can flip 2 heads with this one, you've beaten Charizard.  Since
Poliwhirl is a Water type, 60 damage would double to 120 damage.  It's not
that hard to beat Charizard!

FOSSIL GEODUDE (uses Stone Barrage)
This one is NOT recommended, but it could work.  If it happens that you DO
flip 12 or more heads, you're amazing.  Even something like 8 heads one turn
and then 6 the next, you're still really lucky.

Ok, that's 3 examples (I'm not counting that Geodude one).  There are plenty
more if you look around.  Hey, Gym Heroes is coming out.  As I said before,
there are so many ways to beat a Charizard.

In my opinion, Charizard is not the best for battle.  He's just a really
valuable card that everyone wants so badly.  Collectors love him.  For those
who battle with him, remember this: You CAN be beaten.
