I collect and play mainly with team rocket cards, and after
playing MANY games with them I think I could offer some help with strategies
involving mainly team rocket cards.
My first observation is fairly obvious and involves decks that
tire themselves out quickly. Nightly garbage run(descriptions of cards @ bottom)
is a great way to prevent this little annoyance.
Secondly, for those of you running decks that rely on basic
pokemon on the bench quickly,
then a
combination of challenge, and Dark Dragonite works wonders for decks like that.
Next I would like to speak to all of you out there running
combo decks, which I usually don't do for energy reasons. Rainbow energy is a
good card although overrated, it works great on pokemon such as psyduck,(base
and rocket) and exeggcute which have attacks that use either grass or psychic
energy. When I do use combo energy decks, I would rather use energy search
for lots of reasons, it is much easier to find (common) and it doesn't do
ten damage to the pokemon that you attach it to!
Finally, I wanted to inform you about a killer combination of
fighting/grass pokemon that will kill just about any deck, Dark Muk's
pokemon power (opponent pays two more colorless energy to retreat) and Dark
Dugtrio's pokemon power (if opponent retreats flip a coin, if heads do twenty
damage to that pokemon) will make it close to impossible for your opponent to
retreat his/her active pokemon
Nightly Garbage run (trainer)
choose up to three basic pokemon,
evolution cards, and or basic energy
cards from your discard pile, show them
to your opponent and shuffle them into
your deck.
Challenge (trainer)
if opponent accepts, each of you search
decks for any number of basic pokemon
cards and puts them on your benches,
if opponent declines or benches are full,
draw two cards.

Dark Dugtrio Evolves from Diglett
