Venusaur
Stage 2 Grass Pokemon (Evolves From Ivysaur)
LV. 64 HP 100
[Pokemon Power] Solar Power
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may use this
power. Your active pokemon and the defending pokemon are no longer Asleep,
Confused, Paralyzed, or Poisoned. This power can't work if Venusaur is Asleep,
Confused, or Paralyzed.
GGGG: Mega Drain: 40
Remove a number of damage counters equal to half the damage
done to the defending pokemon (after applying weakness and resistance) (rounded
up to the nearest 10). If Venusaur has fewer damage counters than that, remove
all of them.

No. 003 (Promo #13)
Location: Nintendo's Pokemon Trading Card Game Player's Guide
Pokemon Power:
Venusaur is like a full heal with it's power. With that power Vileplume (J) will
be awesome because it's high damage and next turn Venusaur's Solar Power will
cure it's confusion and Vileplume will be unstoppable!!
Attack #1:
40 damage is good, but it will also be an automatic potion or super potion
depending on the type of pokemon the opponent has active.
Retreat:
His retreat cost of 2 isn't really bad for a stage 2 pokemon.
Weakness:
His weakness to fire is kinda bad because Magmar (F) are in tournaments
everywhere! At least there are no mono-fire decks because Rain Dance is still
popular and Mega Drain's effect is great against fire type pokemon.
Overall:
Venusaur isn't really bad with the great power and the effects of Mega Drain. 2
retreat isn't bad either. I would have some in my grass deck for status effects,
but I don't have any.
See Ya!!
