This is wrong. Your opponent doesn't have to wait until the end of his or
her next turn to check if his or her Active Pokémon wakes up! You flip a
coin at the beginning AND the end of your turn to check sleep.

Here's P Trainer's whole article:

"I found a really good combo of cards, Sabrina's Alakazam and Haunter. S.'s
Alakazam's Mega Burn can wipe out many pokemon in one attack, but if it
doesn't, you cant use it
again, but I found a way to get around that.
First of all, have S.'s Alakazam as your active pokemon, and have S.'s
Haunter on your bench. If the defending pokemon with  60 HP or less  just
wipe them out with Mega Burn. But
if they have more than that, you endanger the Alakazam. So what you do is
first make sure S.'s Alakazam has 3 Phychic energy on him. Then use his
pokemon power, Psylink, and
use S.'s Haunter's Nightmare, causing 20 damage and putting the defending
pokemon to sleep. Your opponent has to wait till the end of his turn to
wake it up, and even if he does,
its your turn again, so just put him to sleep again. Keep doing this until
he only has 60 HP remaining, and use S.'s Alakazam's Mega Burn to knock him
out.
I found this often works for me, and it would work always.
