Subject: Alergy Riptide Deck Fix- Shadow Assassin
I was wondering if you could fix this deck for me.  I've only played it a few times, and I've improved it over the disaster it used to be.  It used to have so much card drawing I decked myself in 4 turns without much to show for it.  This is for standard only -- I'll probably never play a modified tournament.  I call it the Riptide Allergy deck.

It is a Neo Revelation Parasect / Feraligatr deck.  The strategy is simple.  Get an evolved Parasect or 2 out, along with at least one Feraligatr.  Use Cleffa or Qwilfish or the Feraligatr line as early stallers/attackers.  Qwilfish's poison sting for one energy seems nice, especially against a Steelix.  Feraligatr gets more powerful as more energies get discarded, and eventually it's a one-hit knock-out punch for everything except a Magby.  Parasect's pokemon power prevents the nasty effect of shuffling the discarded waters back into the deck.  However, it means you have to w discard)
2 Prof Elm (card draw without decking)
2 Misty's Wrath (card draw and water discard)
3 Focus Band (for Gatr and sometimes Cleffa)
3 Pokemon Breeder Fields (grab Gatr and Parasects)
1 Energy Retrieval (manage discard in case it gets too many waters)
2 Switch (in case of poioned or confused Gatr)
1 Misty's Tears (would have put another in if I could fit it)
1 Sprout Tower (default Gym)
1 Narrow Gym (in case of Sneasel/Wiggly)

This deck can win - but it can fall by turn 2 as well.  If it survives long enough to get Gatr going, without Parasect being turned off or gusted, or Gatr being energy removed to death early, it rocks.  But... it needs help!  Change anything (or everything) except for the Gatr/Parasect combo and I would be grateful.

-Gligarman

Ok Gligarman, I'll do a deck fix. How about a Riptide InSaNiTy deck. An InSaNiTy deck is one that uses a lot of trainers. Trainers make or break Feraligatr. When Parasect is in play, Wrath/ Trash Exchange/ Oak/ CPU are the only ways to discard Energy..
¤Pokémon: Let's look at the pokémon. If we drop 2 Crocanaw for breeders, we can get a Feraligatr faster. The Qwillfish should be dropped for 2 more Cleffa. Qwillfish is good, but Cleffa stalls and gets Gatr faster.  The Paras/ Parasect count should be reduced to 3/2. Parasect can really help Gatr, but then you deck out easier.
¤Energy: Basically good enough.
¤Trainers: Let's start from Scratch. The Pokémon cuts should raise the trainer count to 26. 4 Bills are a must. 2 Oaks, 2 Breeders, 2 Wraths, 1 Elm, and 2 Erikas also help. 2 Nightly Garbage run keep your Cleffas and Gatrs cycling, as do 2 Trash exchange. 2 CPU Search greatly help Gatr getting speed. 3 Focus band keep your pokés in the game. 2 Imp. Oak's Revenge help when you use Erika. 2 Super Potions and 2 No Removal Gym finish off the trainers.
Your Deck should now look like this:
Pokémon (18)
4 Totodile
2 Crocanaw
3 Feraligatr
4 Cleffa
3 Paras
2 Parasect
Energy (16)
16 Water Energy
Trainers (26)
4 Bill
2 Professor Oak
2 Misty's Wrath
1 Professor Elm
2 Erika
2 Nightly Garbage Run
2 Trash Exchange
2 Imp Oak's Revenge
2 No Removal Gym
2 Super Potion
3 Focus Band
2 Pokémon Breeder

Another way to do this would be to drop the Paras/ Parasects for 2 more Oak, 2 more Wrath, and another Elm. If you read my Signature at the bottom you see that I am the destroyer of archetypes. So, from now on if you want a deck fix people, please make it something a little more creative than Feraligatr.
