Let's continue this long-running series,
with Article 17! Promo Igglybuff!!
FACTS:
~30 HP. This is the 3rd
Baby that I've reviewed for Pojo, and every time, I say 30 is fine, since the
Baby Power is in effect, so, there you have it.
~Bottom Stats. Once
again, there are no bottom stats. Which is fine, because they usually don't stay
in play long enough to really need stats. Hint: Free retreat is good... Use this
to your advantage...
~Baby Rule. The rule that governs the use of all
Baby Pokemon. When your opponent attacks, they must flip a coin. If tails, their
turn is over without an attack. I'm almost sure nearly everyone has experienced
this before, and I shouldn't need to elaborate...
~Good Night Song. Here
is the attack for those of you who don't own at least 1 Promo Igglybuff... "(*)
Good Night Song The Defending Pokemon is now Asleep." This is the only
card, other than Neo 1 Hoothoot that can guarantee Sleep for 1 Colorless energy
in Modified!
Put it this way: Would you ever use Hoothoot in a deck? There
you go! Igglybuff is the only Pokemon under Modified that is dependable for
giving Sleep. AND, there is the Baby Rule!
COMPARISON BETWEEN BABY
POKEMON:
~There are mainly 2 Baby Pokemon being used currently: Cleffa
and Neo2 Igglybuff. I'm not downplaying the talent of these 2 cards, but
I'm going to teach when to use Promo Iggly over the other 2.
**If you
want to be able to not only stall, but annoy your opponent at the same time,
Promo Iggly is the only one who fits this category. Cleffa does 0 damage, and
eventually will lead to you decking out. And, Neo2 Iggly has no attacks! That's
not saying it's Pokemon Power is bad, but it doesn't affect the Defending
Pokemon.
RATINGS:
Unlimited Format: 7.5/10. The only
reason I'm rating it a 7.5 is because his older buddy, Jigglypuff, from Jungle
can do the same job, and has 60 HP. Better yet, his brother, Wigglytuff can do
it too, and has 80 HP!
Modified Format: 8/10. Iggly's older evolutions
sadly cannot be played, and he is the only Pokemon, with the exception of
Hoothoot that can guaranteed put a Pokemon to Sleep for (*). In today's crazy
environment, this is a definite plus.
