Subject: 18th How to Use
~Crobat -Chris
Here's the 18th article in my pojo series,
Neo: Revelation Crobat!
FACTS:
**90 HP. Since Crobat is a Stage 2
Pokemon, 90 HP is nice. Even while using Breeder, Crobat still is likely to take
some damage before he gets put into play. This is while Gold Berry/Focus Band
help...
**Bottom Stats. Even though there is a Psychic Weakness, are you
going to argue with Fighting Resistance AND free retreat? I think not! Also, if
you want to use Crobat as a hit and retreat Pokemon, the retreat cost is
great.
**Evolves from Zubat, Golbat. Since Modified is done, Pokemon
Breeder is back! Well, Pokemon Breeder is nearly essential to Golbat in
Standard. With an attack that only requires (G), 2nd turn, Breeding quickly is
good.
**Triggered Poison. (G) does 20 damage, and if the opponent
attaches an Energy card to their Active Pokemon, it's also now Poisoned! Did I
mention, (G)!?
**Cross Attack. (G)(G)(*) can do 20 damage times the
number of heads out of 4 flips. In addition, if 2 or more are heads, the
Defending Pokemon is also Confused! This could possibly be one of the best
Status effects card out there today.
Cards to use with
it/Strategy...
Since Crobat is a
great Pokemon to give negative effects to the Defending Pokemon, like Poison and
Confusion, wouldn't it also be great to not let them retreat, so they can't
shake off the effects? Look below...
~Rocket's Training Gym. Increase
their retreat cost by (*), so it makes it harder to remove the negative
conditions.
~Dark Muk. Confuse and Poison them, then retreat for free to Dk.
Muk, so they get stuck Active while receiving all this damage!
~Super Energy
Removal. Removing Energy reduces the chance of the opponent retreating. Also,
your opponent will most likely try to retreat to remove those conditions, so
they'll add Energy cards, Triggered Poison...
~Pokemon Breeder. Stage 2
Evolution. Standard Format. There you go.
Rating:
Since Modified is
now gone, I will only give 1 rating, until a new format comes around...
Due
to the strong ability to give Poison and Confusion, for reasonably low Energy
costs, and with the free retreat, I will give Crobat a 9/10.
Try using
Crobat in some of your decks, and let me know how it
goes!
