Hey!
Here's Sleepy Dragon back with another article..... =)
Yes, I also made one about Porygon too~ hahaha
Getting to the point, many people have trouble putting the final touches to a deck once you're done making your masterpiece. =)
Well, one MAJOR element in your cards will ALWAYS be the METAGAME.
Go to a tourney, test out your deck, and if you win?
Thats great and all, but if you didn't DEMOLISH them, you need tuning. Hahaha
If you DID demolish them.....switch places. Hahahah
Anyways.....
Once you're done constructing a deck, check for these problems:

• Make sure you have 4 of a card you NEED in your deck's strategy, 3 for ones that help greatly, 2 for cards you can go without, and 1 for a card you only need it for, i.e. Fuji or Gambler.

• I recommend having about 18-24 Energy, but if you have around 24, you can drop 2 for a retrieval, or if you have Promo Mewtwo or Fossil Gastly, you can go even lower, and even lower if your pokemon have low energy costs, but about 23 if you have a fire hogger, i.e. Ninetales.

• Do you have at least 10 basics to prevent mulligan?

• Pokemon are hard to choose, but you also want a staller pokemon unless you use a *sigh* Gaymaker. I suggest 2 Kangaskhan, or if you want MASS stall, like you want to Wildfire them to next Tuesday, you want Chansey.
You also want a beefy basic, I suggest one of the Haymaker pokemon, but don't use more than 2, or else, you have a *sigh* Gaymaker. =(  That's the last thing you want.  Those are your beginning and mid-game pokemon, and usually, good decks have a STRONG basic that takes LOTS of energy, unless you use a......*sigh* Gaymaker.  That's gonna be your cleaner, so your pokemon should probably be divided into these categories:

Stall Pokemon
Beefy Basics
Cleaners
*Strategic Pokemon*

That is...unless you use a *sigh* Gaymaker.  If you do, just stick with the Beefy Basics, but Cleaners, if constructed right, can TOTAL Haymaker.  The *strategic pokemon* include ones that require strategy, such as Ditto, Mew, Porygon, etc.  I never like Pokemon count to go over 17, but if you have a stage 2, try not to have anything else but Beefy Basics, or a Stage 1 that has a Beefy Basic too.

• How many trainers do you have?  14-16? LOL, get MORE!  Everyone's said this, and I agree with the Deck Mechs, because their cause is true, and thats probably why they're Deck Mechanics.  The Standards, unless you play a......*sigh* Gaymaker.

Prof. Oak
Bill
Comp. Search
Gambler/Fuji
ER
SER
Retrieval
Gust Of Wind

• Make sure you have a THEME.

• Make sure your TRAINERS support your theme, or else your plan will crash and BURN.
I.e, use Scoop Up for a stall deck, use + powers for Speedsters, Oak for everything, an anti-staller trainer, ENERGY REMOVALS, and Computer Searchs/Trader for complicated kick-ass Combo themes.

I might've forgot something, but I'm low on time, so I could have forgotten something.....No hate mail about this!  The first one about the card ratios is VERY important, so keep that one in mind GREATLY.
