This article is not terribly useful, but it tells you which cards to stay away
from and why, BESIDES the obvious one(like Victreebel or Kabutops).

  1. Good Manners - Ummm.... This card is bad. You can't have any Basic Poke'mon
in your hand, you have to show your opponent your hand AND show them the Basic
Poke'mon card you get from your deck. Poke'Ball is better than this, for
  crying out loud!

  2. Giovanni's Persian - Though its Poke'mon Power is of little use, this card
is not worth it. Computer Search can do the same thing, except for any card.

  3. Sabrina's Slowbro - Honestly, I don't like Poke'mon that put themselves into
a negative status effect using an attack unless it is in order to use an
attack, or to make it stronger(for example, Koga's Arbok) Naptime does this,
and you can just slap two Potions on it for the same effect without the Sleep.
Screaming Headbutt is not my style; can only use the attack one every other
  turn.

  4. Sabrina's Slowpoke
Like Sabrina's Slowbro, it puts itself to Sleep using Lazy Attack, and since
  it's its only attack, well...

  5. Clefairy Doll - Yes, Clefairy Doll. There was(or still is) a wave of
eyes scanning over the Trainer Clefairy Doll and I would like to know why. It
doesn't count as a Basic POke'mon, only has 10 HP(the majority of Bench damage
  - inflicting attacks do 10 damage, and almost ALL Poke'mon can do more than
that to the Defending Poke'mon. It can't attack, can't retreat and the best
thing about it is that it can't be Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. To top off
all these bad things about it, it's a RARE.

  6. Blaine's Moltres - Ewww. 5 Energy for an only attack is a little beyond
anyone's taste. However, you can use Blaine's to get to attack by turn
three... but Blaine's Moltres is still not a good card even if you use this
strategy because you can lose all the Energy, as well as effort and time, in
  one tails coin flip.

  7. Blaine's Dodrio - 50 damage for two Colorless Energy, but it has a coin
flip, it's its only attack and there's this nagging fact that it's a Stage 1.
Mega Peck is sort of a good attack, but not as an only attack nor for a Stage
  1. This card ain't worth it.

  8. Blaine's Doduo - This card is not worth it because Blaine's Dodrio is not
  worth it.

  9. Sleep! - Good with Base Set Haunter(which is hardly used because of the
much prefered Fossil Haunter). Otherwise, useless.

  10. Lt. Surge - Totally useless. It's a bad Switch(which is hardly or never
  used).

  11. Rocket's Snorlax - I actaully thoght this card was good(laugh if you
want). Resless Sleep only works on the condition that Rocket's Snorlax is Asleep.
Collapse sends Rocket's Snorlax to Sleep as well, so it'll seldom be able
  to attack.

  12. Snorlax - You know, Snorlax and Rocket's Snorlax have many things in
  commom
  - They both have 90 HP

- They both have the same very high retreat cost(4 Cololress Energy)

- They both do too little for too much Energy

- They're both too darn slow!
Is that enough reasons for you?

  13. Dark Primeape - Easy to say, he won't last very long at all. Its Poke'mon
Power, Frenzy, increases damage done by it and to itself due to Confusion by
30! So for two Fighting Energy Dark Primeape can do 70 damage... and 50 damage
  to itself, just as easily.

  14.  TR Rattata - Trickery, good with the Tariner Card Here Comes Team
  Rocket!. Otherwise, not worth it.

  15. Lt. Surge's Fearow - Reapeted Drill? 5 coin flips? No way! Clutch, 30 and
chance of no retreat, who cares?
