Hello again, everyone. I just want to put everything in its proper
perspective when looking at Wigglytuff and Sneasel. It is very true that
Sneasel is not wiggly, but each of them has their own advantages. Let's
compare the two for a moment.
Firstly, and the most noticable, Wiggly has a good-lovin' 80 HP. Sneasel,
however, gets KO'd quickly at 60 HP. It's obvious that Wiggly benefits
in that case. But, you have to factor in the fact that Jigglypuff has 60
HP, which when not used correctly, would hurt just as much as Sneasel's
HP. It really depends on if you use your evolutions properly when faced
with the dilemma of "pray or pray more" type scenarios. (BTW, It's an
inside thing in my area, it's like when you have to evolve or be KO'd.
For example, an energyless Magikarp against an energyless Growlithe with
20 HP left. You either pray that the opponent doesn't have an
energy,
or evolve your Growlithe and hope you can retreat him.)
Now, for type, weaknesses and resistances. Both have a very
spiffy(Definition of spiffy: clean. Slang term, cool) resistance to
Psychic attacks. But the Wiggly family are colorless, which makes it
prey to any Bellsprout Temple deck, and it is also weak to the still
somewhat-present fighting type. However, Sneasel is Dark, which keeps it
away from Bellsprout Temple problems, and has no weakness. So obviously
in that matter, Sneasel outbeats Wiggly.
Most importantly, the attacks. The first attack for Wigglytuff is
Lullaby, for one colorless energy. Very nice combo with the second
attack, but because of the Trappers out of there, it will be negated 25%
of the time or even more. For that same one colorless energy, Sneasel
will do an average of 15 damage a turn with Fury Swipes. Some people
turn away because of the coin flipping, but I enjoy it especially,
because some people will act too defensively, expecting that 30 damage,
as others will do nothing, and get KOd by the attack. Wigglytuff's
second attack is Do The Wave, which does 10 damage times each one of
your Benched Pokemon for 3 colorless energy. Very nice, as you can pump
Wiggly up in a turn and surprise the opponent, thanks to DCE. SERs may
be a problem, but with No Removal Gym, I would suppose not. Sneasel has
Beat Up, which costs 2 Darkness Energy, does 20 damage times each one of
the pokemon in play, including your opponent's pokemon, and your active
Sneasel. It takes two turns to build up, as does Wigglytuff, and is also
a luck base. But, you will add 20 damage either way due to the Darkness
Energy, which means that on average, you will get a total of 80 damage!
So, it depends on what you like. It's like paralization. If you
continually flip heads, of course you're going to use it. Although
Sneasel is more averaged out. ^_^
My thoughts on the article itself:
OK, I am here to clear up something I have heard over the last few days.
Many
folk are saying that Sneasel will replace Wigglytuff beccause it can do
up to
180 damage or whatever by turn 2. (Aeris' Edit: Well, it CAN, but it's
not going to REPLACE Wiggly)
But, there is a catch. I am going to use an
anology to clear this up. Saying that Sneasel is better than Wiggly is
like
saying that Gambler is better than Professor Oak. Sure Gambler can get
you
more cards, but it's all a big gamble. Better go with a sure thing, like
Oak. (Then how come we use Gambler? It's hidden abilities, like shuffing
cards in! Sneasel's specialty is screwing up the new twerp trainers with
the 20 damage!)
Going with Wiggly is a sure thing, going with Sneasel is a big gamble.
(Not a big gamble, with a lot of benched Pokemon)
A wiggly can beat a Sneasel any day. (It's a 55-45 win rate, Sneasel Vs
Wiggly. Out of 20 games.)
Sneasel is not good!! This is Charizard
all over again. (BIG Aeris note. CHARIZARD was awful. Very few dared
to
even put it in a deck unless the tournament area was dead slow. I sell
Charizads to little kids starting to play Pokemon. It's a nice card, but
you're never going to use it, unlike Sneasel.)
Well, that's my two cents. I donated the other ninety-eight to charity.
