Ok, my pokemon today are the
misunderstood middle stage guys small but powerful first is Ivysaur he's over
looked because of Venusaur yea he's good but problem Aero enters the floor
what are you spose to do well drop the big boys and look to the middle evovled
guys today is Ivysaur the heavy hitting little guy. First off attacks the most
ecensial thing well everybody think'in what the heck are you thinking
heavy-hitting??? well look at this after your fourth turn (off whole game) you
can have 100 damage already so look heres how:
First turn: 0
Second turn: 20
Third turn: 50
(opponts turn poison makes 60)
(also his poisonpowder)
Fourth turn: 100
(poison 10 plus vine whip)
So see he can do lotsa
damage quickly in fact Ivysaur himself can do 80 in two turns without
bulbasauar so theres one aspect over looked. Another thing is as decks
get faster middle stages get shoved out when actually they can do heavy damage
themselves. Again Aero comes into play even the slightly slower deck
(ones that do the 4-3-2 thing) aren't gonna get that Stage two out before Aero
enters the ring so your stuck with stage one but you don't know how to use it
so your screwed leavin ya dead. Relating to the subject i've made a
grass deck that uses: Ivysaur (a personal fav.), Erika's gloom (fav. i'll list
what it does in a min.), Tangela, koffing (100% status effect gotta love), and
Aero.
First Erika's gloom (great just great)
hp 60
retreat 1
first attack: 1 grass healing power: flip a coin if heads take
up to 4 damage counters
second attack: 3 grass mircle powder: 30 damage plus flip a
coin if heads choose a status effect (you know them)
Second, why is Aero in my deck well not many
people play haymakers here (not competed yet but get to go monday) but in
three tourneys no haymakers so Aero means sucess (actually put in to beat my
dads deck that mostly depends on evolving) thats why I use him.
Ok, back to Ivysaur great
but got shoved aside by Venusaur. Ok if you haven't noticed my highest
hp in my deck is 60 (yes I know it's pathetic ow well) so to me 60 hp is
pretty good decient for a middle guy. Retreat cost is pretty good too
(one is pretty good believe me). The thing is there is nobody really
good (just so you know I live in Northern Indiana no DCI tourneys) I have no
great compition except for my dad and stall decks in tourneys (in my last
tourney no one else had actually played in tourney before but I got second
with no prize dang it).
Trying to get back to
Ivysaur but can't dang it *brain fart*. So now lets talk about grass in
general. ALL GRASS EXCEPT FOR SCYTHER AND VENUSAUR ARE UNDERRATED.
It's true it's all underrated even the almighty Nidoking is left in the dust.
Poke powers seem to always get overrated and speed is just taking over every
thing now wartortle seems to be a distant memory people are losing the fun
old-fashioned games (in fact I never these good games longest games I've
played that go past 10 turns is stall yak hate it) when I got my first cards
they were still at meijer and target now they don't exsit anywhere. But
the wierd thing is I've only fought one other haymaker and wasn't typical it's
legenday birds and believe me this is one miraculus deck (Imagine syther
getting mopped on the floor with Moltres). Haymakers have sucked all the
fun out of the game so why don't people dust off thier ancient Evolution decks
and go have some old-fashioned fun.
Well that went off track...
so if you haven't seen the glory of the misunderstude middle stages then
listen to me: Aero has entered haymakers don't make a gaymaker make a status
deck that whould screw haymakers up completely, and also Aero stops all other
decks because status effects mostly go away when they evolve so pound them
down with your not so puny middle stages and say to them so think of my sixty
hp pokemon now (earlier they were laughing at you for trying that against
thier Charizard then you pouded them because they didn't get Charizard out ha
ha ha) which goes to Charmeleon.
Another shove over because
of the the flame blowin Charizard I say he's twice as good as Charizard here's
why: ok comparison is damage your what the heck why compare those
Charizard is twice as power actually no he isn't as weak as you think heres
why:
ok first lets compare them:value Charizard 1,
Charmeleon 0. avalibility Charizard 1 Charmeleon 1. hp Charizard 2, Charmeleon
1. attacks Charizard 2, Charmeleon 2 (i'll tell you why in a minute).energy
Charizard 2, Charmeleon 3.poke power Charizard 3, Charmeleon 3. retreat cost
Charizard 3, Charmeleon 4. so now lets go to why Charizard absolutly sucks (execpt
for hp):
Charmeleons attacks your like why does this matter theres no
comparison.
ok for 3 energy charmeleon can do 50 for discarding 1 energy
while charizard for 4 energy does 100 damage while discarding two ok
charmeleon in three turns (if have alot of energy) chameleon does 150 while
chaizard does 100 yea I know there are ways to get around charizards but this
is what it's like normally.
Last actually and least Wartortle okey there
is a problem with this guy but he does deserve more credit than he deserves so
heres why: 40 damage is pretty decient for second turn (1 water and a double
colorless lets him go in a lotta decks) thats all for him.
Well if this far that means you like this
article so thanks for reading and I hope this changes your view on the
overlooked middle-stages: easier to find and trade does equal damage to the
overrated big shots when you less money to spend.
Again thanks for reading bye
