I have decided to take a look back at the pokemon trading card game in
its past states and current state just to show my opinion. I remember when I
first started playing pokemon(right around jungle). I remember how I barely
had enough cards to play and built a deck out of anything I had. It was a
little of everything-just like what most people had to play back then. It was
a swiss round tournament, I was 2-1 when they didn't have anyone for me to
face due to the records, so they put me against someone who wasn't going to
get in the final round. Because of me facing the person I was, they gave me
permission to bribe him-he refused. He ended up beating me-unfair but tough.
Well the point is, back then you could get far with a nobody deck.
      Later, I started getting more cards and built a fire water deck with
no fire energies and Charizard as a game finisher, it took a while, but I
eventually won a tournament. I am pretty much a hero to all the little kids
at this point-with a 10 trainer deck.
      Next thing I know I find this pokemon strategy book with 3 decks by
Brian Brokaw in it. I built rain dance. Next thing I know I win the next
tournament. Then I get greedy- if you play pokemon where I live, you know
Pumpkin and his famous turbo blastoise deck(8 pokemon,20 energy,32
trainers)-I build this deck. By the time I have this deck, fossil is out and
decks are changing. Everyone plays minor haymakers(14-18
pokemon,22-25energy,20-25 trainers). I start to win every tournament I go to.
      Next comes rocket. Wiggly is huge. My comes to the tournaments with
his wiggly deck and I'm not winning. I start to think. I decide to build a
wiggly deck of my own with mewtwos, scythers, and of course wigglys. I posted
the deck on my website and give my website to my friends at the tournament.
They played my exact deck and I can't beat it.
      Nowadays we have prop15,3 and neo genesis is out. The tournaments
don't exsist anymore, but I'm guessing the environment of decks is going to
change alot with neo out. I plan to use cleffa, scyther, gligar, and rocket's
zapdos to build a deck. Oh and if your wondering why I didn't post anything
for gym1 and2, they didn't effect the game much in my opinion.
