Subject: Weekly Card- The Guru
Hello
all! Its Guru. Now before anyone starts throwing stones, just lis... OW! I said
listen BEFORE throwing stones! =/ Alright, now here's what happened. I was
working on last week's and saved it.(I had to go to karate) I thought I had
finished and sent it out for some reason, but I guess I didn't. Oh well. Here's
the older one any way:
Its Guru back for my
2nd Weekly Card. This week's card is..............................SLOWKING! You
all know him, and perhaps love or hate him. Lets take a
look.
Mind
Games
This is what makes
Slowking so good. Having multiples can virtually stop your opponents trainers.
That means you will be able to play trainers and your opponent wont. Wow,
that's cool! but It does have some problems. 1st, there's Muk or Iggly. Without
slowkings power, a Mind Games deck is often caught off-guard. However, Muk can
be gusted and KOed, so it can't completely stop 'king and Ig can be
feinted. It can be comboed with nearly anything, too. After all, you
shouldn't be attacking anyway with 'King, right? I've even seen a deck
with Hitmonchan and Slowking. Freaky, huh?
Other
Features
I'm combining all
Slowking's other traits in one category because, well, I'm lazy. First there's
his HP. 80, not bad. Gusting him up and KOing him wont be easy, especially
with Balloon Berry. B. Berry helps with the 2 retreat cost, too. Weakness to Psy
means a MP Mewtwo can OHKO it, but that isn't that used
anymore.
Countering
it
The best way to stop a
Slowking is getting rid of the 'Poke first. I've done that plenty of times with
anything from a Gligar to a Sneasle. Other methods involve beating the 'King
after evolving. Some of these include: NG Pichu, NG Murkrow (ML an active King,
then Feint it 2x w/2 Dark tends to be the best) and the most popular method:
Iggly (I know I mentioned this earlier)
Here's this week's
WC:
This week we
have..............................................................ND Kabutops!
Lets look closly at this card.
Hydrocutter
OMG, that is one sweet
attack. If you have a little luck with you
or are good at flipping coins, this card is for you! Averaging
3 for 80 kicks serious @$$! It requires 1 Fighting to work, but you can use
any other kind to boost the power of the attack. However, it might do 0 :(.
Then again, it could do 120 *o*.
Stage
2
Yeah, its a Stage 2, but
it acts like a stage 1. Fossil Egg allows you to get a Kabuto turn 1, maybe more
than 1.(Revive Friends)
HP, Retreat, weakness,
Resistance
ooo,90 HP. Sure it
has 2 retreat, but you really shouldn't retreat anyway. As for weakness, in
standard Scyther is the main problem, but "Big K" will usually OHKO it. E.
Victribell and Crobat are big conserns in MF, but you always
have Focus and FHE(Crobat). Oh yeah, E. Victribell and Big K can
OHKO each other, too.
How to Counter
It
Well, I suppose the best
way to stop it is with a good grass Poke. A Mew can take it out if Big K
has 50+ damage on it, but it is hard to get a mew out cause there is
always GOW and D.Gust.
