This is a strategy for Fossil
Zapdos, Raichu, Magneton, Lt. Surge's
Electabuzz, and some other things.
Let's start with Zapdos, my favorite Pokémon!
Zapdos
80 HP
2 Retreat Cost
Weakness: N/A
Resistance: Fighting
Thunderstorm: For each of your opponent's benched Pokémon, flip a coin.
If
heads, this attack does 20 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness
and
Resistance for the Benched Pokémon.) Then, Zapdos does 10 damage times
the
number of tails to itself.
Now, at first glance, Zapdos might
look a little wimpy, but with a few of
it's friends, it can be a fast game.
A good thing to have is defenders. 4 if
possible. If Zapdos goes down, then
the game is in your opponents favor by a
lot. Retreat. Bad. Switch. Good.
Got it? Now, let's see some of his friends.
Lt. Surge's Electabuzz. HEaven
on Earth for Zapdos. If you can get energy's
onto Buzz, then move them to
Zapdos with Electric Current, you're fgood to
go. Let's take a look at Buzz:
Lt. Surge's Electabuzz
60 HP
Retreat: 2
Weakness: Fighting
Charge: Take up to 2 Electric Energy cards from your discard pile and
attach
them to Lt. Surge's Electabuzz.
Electric Current: Take 1
Electric Energy card attached to Lt. Surge's
Electabuzz and attach it to 1
of your benched Pokémon. If you have no benched
Pokémon, then discard that
Energy.
See what I mean by Zapdos' best friend? If you attach an energy
to Zapdos,
then use Electric Current, then you can cut down the time it
takes to power
up Zapdos in half! One of my favorite combos.
Now
lets talk about Raichu. Everyone's favorite little cute, harmless, kiddie
Pokémon, right? I mean, it evolves from the little Pikachu, its harmless,
right? Wrong. Very,very, wrong..
Let's take a glance at Raichu:
Raichu
90 HP
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: -
Retreat: 1
Gigashock: Choose 3 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and this attack
does
10 damage to each of them. (Don't apply weakness and resistance.) If
your
opponent has less than 3 Pokémon, do the damage to each of them.
Ok. This is like Zapdos, but a little better, you're thinking right?
Wrong.
Though it has cheaper retreat cost, it is horribly weak to fighting.
Zapdos
has to take at least 40 from a fighting guy to take even 10, and
Zapdos has
no weakness! Plus its attack works on all benched Pokémon. But if
Zapdos is
gettin a little tired, it might be a good idea to substitute
Raichu. Even
though he doesnt have the weakness/resistance advantage, his
attacks are a
little more solid and assuring for straight up damage.
Ok, now an overlooked Pokémon, Base Set Electrode.
Electrode
80 HP
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: -
Retreat: 1
Oh
jeez.... more weakness to fighting... oh well, battling isnt what he's all
about. He is about getting Energy onto Zapdos or Raichu when they need it.
If
a situation comes up and you really really really really REALLY (did I
forget
really?) need him, then use him. But for anything else, HE IS 2
ENERGY. HE IS
NOT A POKéMON!
Am I absolutely clear?
Ok, now lets
see that cute little kiddie Pokémon, Pikachu. I know what you're
thinking,
ok, this is enough, I AM NOT ABOUT TO SEE SOMETHING ABOUT A STUPID
PIKACHU!!! Well just chill! The little rat has a purpose in life.
Pikachu
50 HP
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: -
Retreat:
1
Spark: If your opponent has any Benched Pokémon choose one of them.
This
attack does 10 damage to it. (Don't apply weankess and resistance.)
Now, he does what his brother Raichu does, but he's weaker. The 50 HP is
depressing, but if you use 3 or 4 of 'em, then you should have plenty. And
with the cheap retreat, it can get out of danger fast. You can also use
Buzz's Electric Current to help it escape. But he is for a strating-mid-game
battler. Try to get Zapdos and Raichu out, and don't depend on Pikachu.
Let's take a trip to Trainer road. Now since there isnt a lot of
evolving,
Pokémon Breeders werent neccesary. Now, we'll need lots of
searching cards.
Pokéball: Flip a coin. If heads you may search your
deck for any Basic or
Evolution Pokémon card. Show that card to your
opponent and shuffle your deck.
Ok. This card has 1 single purpose: GET
ZAPDOS! Let me repeat: GET ZAPDOS!
'nuff said.
Computer Search:
Discard 2 cards from your hand in order to search your deck
for any card and
put it in your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.
Do I REALLY have to
explain it? Ok, ok, I will... GET ZAPDOS! Again: GET
ZAPDOS!
Professor Oak: Discard your hand and draw 7 cards.
This is for
when you have a bad hand and need Energy, or Pokémon, or
something.
Bill: Draw 2 cards.
I won't explain this one, sorry!
Well, that's my strategies for the Electric Avengers. Use it wisely,
young
Jedi.
