OK, looks like I'll have to use my amazing card-reading powers to solve
this problem. Metal Energy says, "Damage done to Pokemon with
Metal Energy attached to them is reduced by 10(after applying weakness and
resistance)..."
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but read Alakazam, "Pokemon
Power-Damage Swap: As often as you like during your turn, before you attack, you
may move 1
damage counter from one of your Pokemon to another
one of your Pokemon as long as it doesn't knock that Pokemon out". Since your
just moving damage, not doing damage, this trick will not work. Also, damage is
different from damage counter. Listen to these sentences, "Life Drain-Flip a
coin. If heads, put a number of
damage counters on the
Defending Pokemon so that it has 10 HP left." Now the second one, "Life
Drain-Flip a coin. If heads, do
damage to the Defending Pokemon
so that it has 10 HP left." Seems like there's no difference, right? Now, let's
look closer. The first one won't be affected by Weakness, Resistance, or
anything else that they have protecting them that says "prevent damage", because
we aren't doing damage, we are putting damage
counters on them.
