I just finished reading Monkey’s article on the state of Pokemon. While it does make its point, it provides no solution to the problem. I am disgusted by how many people will rant about the state of the game, they never do anything about it. a short time ago, everyone was complaining about how haymakes ruined the environment. Now, they complain that trainer disruption is the big problem. There will always be broken cards, but there is also a way to make those cards useless.

Haymakers are stopped by Slowking and Dark Vileplume, but can still be effective.

Trainer disruption decks use evolutions and pokemon powers, so a strong aeromew or Muk deck could disrupt that.

Many new decks will use Murkrow to stall or Sneasle as a big hitter. Use Unknown D to counter that.

These are a few small examples of how to metagame whatever is popular in your area. My personal favorite way to counter fast decks is to stall to death with a Fossil Haunter and attached focus band. They need 3 heads to kill it (Sleep, PP, and Focus band).

Remember: Revise before you rant! And most importantly don’t join it, because you can always beat it.
