Cleffa vs. Elm-which is really better?
The big question. Well, not really. All I hear is: "Oak is better than Elm,
and Cleffa rocks. 'Nuff said." Wrongo!
I hate to say it, but some of the Pokemon TCG players out there always
stick
to the same deck; they don't try any new or different deck ideas or cards.
Elm is one of those cards. But first, let's look at Cleffa. It's basically
an
Elm in pretty pink paper with no drawback, right? Or is it?
Cleffa's Eeeeeeek! attack does the same thing as Elm, but with no "no more
Trainer cards this turn" drawback. But, Eeeeeeek! is an attack, and thus
ends
your turn. Hmm...
Elm. Poor, shunned, Professor Elm. He shuffles your hand into the deck,
lets
you draw a new one, but you can't play any more Trainers this turn. Bummer.
But, you can still play Pokemon and/or energy. You don't have to worry
about
giving up a prize for Cleffa getting knocked out. And you still have a free
attack. By using Eeeeeeek!, you can do nothing else. No other attack, no
playing Pokemon, or energy.
Elm doesn't get the credit it deserves. I think it may even be better than
Cleffa.... *dodges chairs and bottles being thrown at her*
In short, It's a toss-up. Use what you want. Both are great. But you know
what I'm using...
I hope that this article helped you, (the reader) and that you will maybe,
in
the future, give second glances at those not so great looking cards. Have
fun, and good luck!
