A Closer Look at Aipom
by sneasel4856
When you first look at Aipom, what do you think? What a waste
of
paper! This card makes Magikarp look useful. for those of you
who
haven’t seen Aipom here are his stats:
Aipom--Neo Genesis
Basic Pokémon
40 HP
Colorless
1 Pilfer Shuffle Aipom and all cards attached to
it
into your deck. Flip a
coin. If heads, shuffle a card
from your discard pile into your
deck.
1 Tail Rap Flip 2 coins. This
attack does 10 damage
times 10x
the number of heads.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic -30
Retreat Cost: 0
I recently wrote, under another name, an article entitled “Base
Alakazam+Unown A” (June 22). If you wanted to build a deck based
around
Damage Swap, read “Base Alakazam+Unown A” and add Aipom to use later
in
the game for the purpose of (a) getting rid of damage via Pilfer and
(b)
getting back cards from the discard pile such as an Unown.
Another time to use Aipom is in a deck with
Darkness/Metal/Rainbow
Energies or other essential cards for a deck, again through Pilfer.
Other Aipom uses:
-In a Riptide deck to put more energy into your deck, then use
Misty’s
Wrath or Trash Exchange
-In a Haymaker deck to get back essential cards or to actually
attack,
most preferably against a Psychic Pokémon.
-Against, despite that it is rarely used any more, Mr.
Mime.
