It's the Dragon Master. Today I've sent in a strategy on
Erika's Vileplume. Erika's Vileplume was a really good card during the beginning
of Gym: Heroes that was taken out by Haymaker quickly. But, if used correctly,
this nightmarish and long forgotten Stage 2 can be of major use.
Erika's Vileplume, while it only has 80 HP, its Pokémon
Power, Pollen Defense makes up for it. Even if Erika's Vileplume takes a fatal
hit, a chance of confusion is evil. Mega Drain, aside of costing 3 Energy, is
superbly useful because you'll do 30 damage and gain back 20. "But what if any
of the Metal Monsters come in?," you ask yourself. Well, I'm seeing very few
Metal Pokémon out there, so it shouldn't be an issue. The only one I see anymore
is Steelix. He's a common site, but he has a Grass-weak Basic. Erika's Vileplume
is certainly vulnerable to Steelix, but Rocket's Scyther could stop Steelix
cold. So, that's why we use Rocket's Scyther in a deck with Erika's Vileplume.
Now, onto the deck idea. Remember, it's an idea. Change the deck to fit your
style.

4 PlusPower
3 Gold Berry
3 Professor Oak

4 Double Colorless Energy
The goal of this deck is to confuse your opponent,
possibly poison, and get out Erika's Vileplume to finish the job. Erika's Oddish
can either confuse or put to Sleep, Erika's Gloom will either give itself a Gold
Berry in an attack or pick your status effect. Erika's Vileplume will sit and
stall and then heal itself some more. Cleffa is there for hand recycling and
Rocket's Scyther is solid in offense and defense. Scyther, while a loner in this
deck, is good for pounding Grass-weak Pokémon, especially without a need for
Grass Energy to do so.
Gust of Wind is there because almost every deck can and
should use it. PlusPower works great with Erika's Vileplume because extra damage
means more damage gone. Professor Oak is there because, well, do I really have
to explain about it, Super Energy Removal, and everything else? They're all
there because of the advantage they promote.
The Double Colorless Energy work great with Scyther and
Rocket's Scyther.
If you want more, don't miss my next deck, Power Surge.
But, I may send in other reports beforehand. I will send it in, though.
