Hey pojo, my main deck is a Venusaur deck and I thought I'd write a little
something about venusaur decks. Here are my top ten cards/combos to put in a
grass deck:
10. Recycle Energy/SER: Slap down a narrow.Resistance gym lay a few SERs,
get a few recycle energies, have a dead steelix.
9.Meganium lvl. 57: Two energy to trans around. Put at 9 because it's hard
to run two stage twos in a deck.
8. Switch/Lt.Surge: Normally if you switch or surge you need to have
powered up the pokemon you're choosing first, but this is why venusaur works
great with these cards.
7. Double Colorless Energy: Here's a scenario, your scyther with three
grass on it is going to be knocked out by a full HP Kangashkan (your opponent
has no bench by the way) after you attack. Your only benched is a venusaur with
two grass on it. You draw a DCE. Trans two energy too venusaur slap the DCE on
Scyther and slash, get knocked out, solarbeam, win.
6. Pluspower/gust: Venusaur needs one plus to KO Fossil Magmar, Hitmonchan,
R. Zapdos, R. Mewtwo etc. so gust em' out and get em'. Gust is good against
sneasle.
5. Clefable: It's pretty fast, it kills R. Zappy and Sneasle, and if played
right it can stall
4.Discovery (or genises) Wooper: Get them powered up with a single DCE, and
give all those typhosion decks a little more trouble.
3.Cleffa: I know all decks should use cleffa, but with a stage two, you
should use this guy a lot.
2.Scyther/R.Syther: R. Scyther works with the DCE combo too, and they are
both quick, and can stall for a little bit.
1.Oak/Bill/Computer Search/Master Ball/Breeder/Trader: Get Venusaur out as
fast as possible.
