Welcome, *walks up on podium* "All of us here no what decks win tournaments, and what decks that conquer. They rule. *audience shouts* "Now just sit back, and eat your popcorn, and listen to my extremely boring lecture about archetypes"
Archetype
#1. Raindance- Use Blastoise's PKMN Power in order to break the one energy per
turn rule. Now, this deck is amazing, it uses card drawing trainers and Pokemon,
in order to do this. The players that use these decks usually have no energy in
their hand after Rain Dancing. This deck can start off bad, but then it rises,
and beats down all your Pokemon. Since Wartortle is rarely used, Mew is a great
Pokemon to Dev. Beam them, leaving them with weak Squirtle. Mew is also great
since the Pokemon Blastoise will usually have 5 energys on them, so Mew can do
50 damage, but will have to die the next turn unless a Defender is used. But,
the best Pokemon that can be used to fight off all these Pokemon is, Mr.Mime.
His Invisible Wall Power can easily block all of the attacks. Kangaskhan is
resistant to Psychic, but its almost impossible to only get one heads in 4
flips. So you should Gust out Blastoise. Energy De! nial won't work well against
thes
Archeype #2 Haymaker- Fast Attacking Pokemon, giving away big damage, all
basic. These decks "ruled" the Pokemon TCG world for a long time and
is one of the most feared archetypes of all time. When the base set came,
Electabuzz, Far Fetch'd, and Hitmonchan. When Jungle came out, it gave Haymaker
a little boost, replacing Far Fetch'd with Scyther, and it helped Raindance with
Kangaskhan. Then Fossil came out, with Aerodactyl, giving Haymaker a larger
boost since the opponent couldn't evolve. When the TR set came out, more
and morey strategys to beat Haymaker were growing. Dark Vileplume can kill
Haymaker, since they run on tons of Trainers. Dark Vileplume in an Energy Denial
can make an amazing deck. Removing energy, and you can't Retrieve it back. Ouch.
Well, first you have to remove, then evolve Dark Gloom. Archetype #3
Stall- Stalling your opponent making him/her deck themselves. There are 3,
types of Stall. Wildfire, using Moltres's Wildfire, its a faster way of decking
the opponent, Psychic Stall using an Alakazam/Chansey combo with it's Damage
Swap. Both are very good, but decking your opponent isn't my way of winning. Oh
yeah, I forgot, Mullie Mew. Everybody can remember that deck, it was very
famous. Barrier, Barrier, Barrier. 3 Mewtwo, 57 Psychic Energy. Ah.... memories.
The Psychic Stall is the hardest one in my opinion, but, Muk can't solve it all.
Muk will be knocked out before you can say uh.." Look Ma, no
hands" So many Kadabras. So, what I think is, Ditto. Ditto, Ditto, Ditto.
You can take on Alakazam by Gusting him out. Alakazam probably won't have energy
because he's just a bench warmer. Next, we have Wildfire, the Legendary Fire
Bird, Moltres. I can make one of those decks, ! I have 3. But you need 4,
uh-huh.
Archtype #4 Potpourri-- A whole bunch of types..... one word... I mean two
words..6 syllables, ENERGY REMOVAL. These decks can't have that much energy.
Knock em out. These decks are so easy to beat. IMO. Scott, I know he made that
deck but I've beaten a Potpourri so many times. This boy sent out a ditto
against my Ditto and said self destruct. Then I said , "what the
hell?" Archetype #5 Sponge- I have to admit, this is one of my best decks I've ever
used. Great deck Scott, kudos. These decks are full of Movie Mewtwos. You
discard energys, and do a whopping 40 damage on turn 2!! But, a way to beat em
is Ditto! You need to discard some energies of your own and ER the Movie Mewtwo.
Knock em out one at a time. Then it won't be a Sponge, it would just be a deck
with alot of Mews, and Electabuzz. So its like a mutant MewBuzz deck or
something. Archetype #6 Turbo Tuff- This is also one of my favorite decks. Its all about
a little Speed and a little Tuff. These decks focus on Wigglytuff's Do the Wave
to do up to 60 damage with a full bench. Challenge is a nice trainer to this
deck, accept or decline, both is good. Decline? Draw 2 Cards. This deck is full
of one thing, or 2 things, SPEED and POWER. These decks will wipe out tons of
decks. But there is a way to beat them, Hitmonchan. Now you may think Mr.Mime
can beat them, but there is something that Mr.Mime is scared of, a ballon named
Jigglypuff. Most of the time there are 4 Jigglys, and 3 Tuffs. So Mime, be
afraid... be very afraid. Make that very very very afraid. Well anyway about
Hitmonchan, this guy can knock out a Tuff in 2 turns. Attack it when Tuff is
powering up. Another one is Dark Machamp, this guy is one bad dude. He will go
after the main target Wigglytuff, gust em, and Fling em. T! hen leaving the
opponent with one
"Well
that's about it folks, you can go home now, SECURITY! Unlock the 25-inch thick
Steel door so the hosta--people can leave.*audience runs out as fast as they
can* well there you have it. All About Archetypes by Jason Ketchum. Thank You
for your time, now go home and watch Wheel of Fortune or something. Oh yeah, I
