Hey, it's me again. It seems the Pojo liked my first two articles so I
am
gonna try and write some periodically. This time I want to go over what I
think the Gym Series may bring to Pokemon TCG.
First off, it will probably bring TCG more prestige. Presently where I
live,
The Magic players bash the Pokemon players and the Legend of the Five Ring
players bash both Magic and Pokemon players. These bashings come simply
from
the fact that the games are less complex. Gym will bring a lot of more
strategy and options into the field. The card pool will greatly increase
and
I believe that it may even attract players from othe CCGs. The reason
Pokemon isn't complex now is because at the beginning it was supposed to be
simple so everyone could understand. The game has periodically gotten more
complex as more cards and new ideas have been introduced into the field.
Secondly, there will definitely be new Archetypes introduced. The deck I
anticipate most is a deck revolving around Brock's Ninetails, which you can
evolve into any Stage 2 Pokemon you want (as far as I know). The reason
M:TG
and L5R are so complex is because there is such a variety of decks. I'd
estimate about 50 archetypes apiece in both those games. Also there are
fewer ways to win. L5R hasabout 4 ways to win, where as Pokemon you either
get all your prizes or deck the opponent. Currently, Pokemon has only 7 or
8
archetypes, and everyone uses the same ones (The Big Three).
I hope this article brings some new ideas and replies from this site's
viewers. You can send me email at NoNameNeeded713@aol.com
