I just bought my first Neo Discovey cards today, and I
saw a pretty decent combo involving Tyranitar and
Unown D. Here are the stats for each card:
Tyranitar
Stage 2 - Evolves from Pupitar
Rarity: Rare-Holo and Rare
Type: Darkness
HP: 100
Attack: (3) Slam: 30x
Flip 2 coins. This attack does 30 times the number of
heads.
Attack: (2DD) Trample: 50
For each Benched Pokemon in play (yours and your
opponent’s), flip a coin, if heads, this attack does
30 damage to that Pokemon. (Don’t apply Weakness and
Resistance for Benched Pokemon)
Weakness: None
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 3
Unown D
Basic Pokemon
Rarity: Uncommon
Type: Psychic
HP: 40
Pokemon Power: Dark[Darkness] Whenever a Dark Pokemon
damages 1 of your pokemon, reduce that damage by
30(After applying weakness and resistance). This power
stops working if you have more than 1 Unown [D] in
play. (This power works even if Unown [D] is Asleep,
Confused, or Paralyzed.)
Attack: (P) Hidden Power: 10
Weakness: Psychic
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: 1
Tyranitar isn't that bad of a card, but Trample isn't
very good when you have the chance of destroying your
own bench. It can take out any of your benched baby
pokemon, so that isn't any good. It can take out your
opponent's baby pokemon in 1 hit which is good. The
solution to stopping the damage to your bench is Unown
D. I wouldn't just play one in your deck, since it is
a target for GOW. I would probably play around two
incase one would be knocked out, you would have
another that you would be able to play. Plus you would
be able to use NGR if you needed to get one out of
your discard. Plus Unown D would also help your deck
against Sneasel, Murkrow, and Houndoom, so it serves
more of a purpose than just a blocker from damage from
Trample.
