Hi all:
I am back for Part 2 of Giovanni
Ok...Let's see how his 2 stage Pokemon do.
Giovanni's Machop/Machoke/Machamp: Machop : Chop does 10 damage for a colorless. The usual. Fury Punch: Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 damage times the number of heads. Yowza! This attack could be pretty lethal. The cost is a bit expensive, but for the outcome, you can hit on average 40 damage with just a Machop! Impressive...Let's see the next stage. Machoke: Risky Attack: Flip a coin. If heads this attack does 60 to the defending. Cool! But (there is always a but), for tails you kill yourself with 100 damage (that means no Defenders, since this pokemon has only 80 damage)...Although, the heads outcome is cool, tails...uh uh...killing your stage 1 Pokemon for a bad coin flip isn't cool at all. Not a great start. Headlock: Does 20 damage and for heads it does an additional 20 damage AND paralysis. For 2 F and a colorless energy, it is a pretty neat attack for that heads. It still needs a good first attack though. Maybe, we can get by this with a Pokemon Breeder. Machamp: Pokemon Power: Jab: If
***TIP: By using recall on Machamp, you can use Machops Fury Punch attack. Say you have about 50 (average) damage on Machamp, for just one single heads, you do a whopping 100 damage!!! Holy moly!!!
NEXT!!!
Giovanni's Nidoran/Nidorino/Nidoking: Nidoran:Double Kick: Flip 2 coins. For each heads, this does 20 damage. Boring. Retaliation: If this Pokemon has more then 2 damage counters on it, it does 30 damage. This is a cool attack and could bond with Berry.. Nidorino: Horn Dig: Does 20 damage and an additional 20 if the defending Pokemon has any damage on it. Hey, it's the opposite of Erika's Jigglypuff! For 2 colorless and a grass energy, this attack is ok. Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, only one attack (it's worth skipping with a Pokemon Breeder). Nidoking: Intimidate: If your opponents Pokemon has 50 HP or less, it cannot attack Nidoking next turn. A nice staller for those basic Pokemon waiting to be evolved. Tumbling Attack: Does 40 damage and an additional 30 for a heads. 70 damage for a heads is not bad, but for it's energy cost, i think we will leave this Evolution in the Shoebox.
Maybe it's femanin side is a big hitter.
Giovanni's Nidoran/Nidorina/Nidoqueen: Nidoran: Horn Thrust (20): Flip a coin. If tails this attack does nothing. Looks better then that double kick attack, but not a killer. Double-Edge: Does 30 damage to the defending Pokemon and 20 to yourself. This is a cool attack for only one Double colorless and a Berry, this puppy is MUCH BETTER then it's ...ehhmmm...male version. To top it off, it has 50 HP! Ok, we have had bad luck in the past with 1 stage Pokemon. Maybe we have something going on here. Nidorina: Poison Needle Attack: Does 30 damage and for a heads flip it poisons the defending Pokemon. Either way, this does 20 damage to the defending Pokemon. Not bad for a grass and colorless energy(another attack that suites well with a berry). Lean On(i didn't really like the name of this attack...makes it look like a pathetic one): Does 20 damage and for heads, paralysis. This cost 2 colorless and a grass energy. This card is pretty cool, since it has a nice background(Nidoran) and both nice attacks, i don't
Absolutley useless. The cost doesn't even matter, this attack or shall i say card, should never be used.
Too bad Nidoqueen wasn't as good as its pre-evo's. What a pitty.
***TIP: With Meganium in play, you can trample a couple of Pokemon with Nidorina and Nidorino.
And last but not least...the o so powerful...
Giovanni's Pinsir: Spiritual Pinch(................?): Does 10 damage plus 20 more damage for a heads flip. They put an attack that Erika's Dratini and Eevee use? I think they tried to fool you with the name of the attack...I think... Piledriver: Does 40 damage and flip a coin. If tails, choose one of your Pokemon and give it 20 damage. THIS CARD SUCKS. Don't use it...EVER!
Giovannis Pokes aren't that bad after all....well...most of them are , but Nidoran(F) and Nidorina were very nice cards and the recall strategy with Machamp was also a nice combo. The rest are all - as i would say- "dust collectors".
Well, now you all know why it is ignored.
Oh well, i hope you guys enjoyed the article and hope to get started on my next article.
Peace.
