This is Dragon Master. I have a strategy today on what's good and what's bad in Neo Discovery. I've organized it by type:

Starting with:
Metal:

Included cards:
Forretress
Magnemite
Scizor
I'll begin with Forretress. He's certainly close to being something we'd want in a tournament, and he's not that bad. Spikes is useful at the right moment and Rapid Spin combos well with it, but (Neo Discovery) Igglybuff and Metal Energy make him unplayable in tournaments. That's too bad.
Next, I'll look at Magnemite. *Cough*, this thing is horrible. Lock On looks neat, but since it doesn't stop Scoop Up or a Pokémon from retreating, it is way too situational. Electric Bolt is also an awful attack with all the coin flips. Not to mention, he has a measly 40 HP and a retreat cost.
Finally, Scizor enters the ring. This card is good. It has solid starting power and solid finishing power. Just look at it go!
So, Metal came with Scizor as its only form of treasure.

Darkness:

Included cards:
Houndoom
Umbreon(Holo)
Tyranitar
Umbreon(Rare)
Houndour(Uncommon)
To start with, I'll look at Houndoom. This card has good potential. I love it! Crunch is a massive offense maneuver and Flamethrower is nice.
The next card is Umbreon(Holo). This card is the best Darkness Pokémon here. It and Murkrow will be kings in many Darkness decks.
Tyranitar steps in. He's a Stage 2 with 2 slow attacks, a high retreat cost, and a bad Basic. Therefore, he won't see but so much play.
Umbreon(Rare) casts a shadow in the ring. But, this is the inferior of the 2 Umbreon. Quick Attack is nothing new and Pursuit is highly situational. So, he won't see play in tournaments.
Finally, Houndour(Uncommon) enters. His 40 HP is way too low for Plunder to be good, Bite is weak, and Plunder, while useful, you will get beat before you can use it.
So, Darkness got Houndoom and Umbreon(Holo) as treasure. Next to enter is...

Colorless:

Included cards:
Smeargle
Ursaring
Eevee
Igglybuff
Sentret
Teddiursa
Dunsparce
Smeargle is up first. This Smeargle is trash compared to the old one. Sketch is a bad Metronome. The other Smeargle is much better. Just don't use this one.
Ursaring comes out of its cave next. Boy, is this thing bad. The first attack is either paralysis or nothing and the 2nd attack is slow and unreliable. What good is it in tournaments? None at all.
Eevee shows itself next. It and (Holo) Umbreon will create a good archetype, just watch and learn. This card will work.
Igglybuff arrives. This is one of the most known forms of treasure that was included in Neo Discovery. Gaze is highly useful because it shuts down Occult, Mind Games, etc. It warms the Bench, and has miraculously changed the game for us.
Sentret steps in. It's almost pointless. Looking at hands is nice in Trap, but hands do change and Pokémon do get Knocked Out. Plus, Sprout Tower takes away his offensive maneuvers.
Teddiursa takes a break from lunch to come see us. But why? He's even worse than his evolved form. Rest will not work on a Pokémon with 40 HP, especially since Damage Swap is dead. It's not worth it.
Finally, we have Dunsparce. Ha Ha Ha! I laugh at this card's potential. It has none! It's a Colorless Base Set Abra. Nobody should play this! You'll lose if you do!
So, looking at all the trash Neo Discovery gave us so far, Colorless gave us some treasure in the form of Eevee and Igglybuff. Thanks Colorless! Now it's time to look at:

Fighting:

Included cards:
Hitmontop
Poliwrath
Omanyte
Omastar
Pupitar
Tyrogue
Larvitar
The first one is Hitmontop. Detect is good, but Triple Kick is not. Detect gives you some time to stall, Triple Kick is slow and unreliable. This guy is a Fighting Pokémon that should've been a Psychic Pokémon. It's that defensive. Too defensive.
Next is Poliwrath. I can see weird combos made to try and use this card. But I don't see any of them working. With bad pre-evolved forms and a high retreat cost, this Fighting Pokémon with good potential will see little if any playtime, especially with the amount of Fighting Resistance abroad. So, it's not worth it yet.
Omanyte is resurrected now. This card has potential, but there's still Grass and there's still Igglybuff, so the potential this card has with its Pokémon Power is again wasted. It's not for tournaments either.
Omastar is also brought up. Is it for tournaments? Nope. If it were Water, Spike Barrage would be good, but since he's Fighting, it's not. It's not worth it, either.
Pupitar is another card that won't see playtime. Tackle isn't enough and Dust-devil, while it actually could be useful since Fighting is a type that hardly if ever sees play on its own. But, since it's expensive and weak, and he has a bad Basic, it won't be.
Tyrogue is born into the environment. It's nice to see an offensive baby, but it's not nice to see a flip-reliant attack. Sorry, I'm not interested in it.
Larvitar is our final Pokémon. What a waste! It's nothing more than a Base Set Voltorb with Lightning Resistance. That's not good, that's horrible.
*Sigh*, Fighting came with nothing but trash, like Metal and Darkness. What's up next?

Fire

Included cards:
Houndour(Rare)
Bad selection, but nice card. Collect Fire will combo well with Houndoom's Flamethrower and Smog will set stage for a nasty Houndoom attack. It works.
Fire has come with a good card, but not a good selection. Time for:

Grass

Included cards:
Yanma
Beedrill
Butterfree
Kakuna
Metapod
Scyther
Caterpie
Hoppip
Pineco
Spinarak
Weedle
Yanma is our first selection. Shockwave is a very useful attack, but only if you flip heads. Swift looks neat, but since there aren't many Metal Pokémon that are tournament-worthy anymore, if any, is near worthless.
Beedrill is up to the plate. Triple Poison is quite useful, but since Pin Missile is not, this guy hasn't been seeing too much play.
Butterfree flies in. Magic Dust is neat and evil, and Hyper Reverse is okay, but most Pokémon don't attack with more than 2 Energy. Rain Dance has a new threat certainly, but not Sneasel decks. He's treasure in some environments, trash in others.
Kakuna is falling out of the tree. It looks like a nice stall card, but Beedrill has yet to see play.
Metapod comes to join the fun. It can induce instant Evolution, which is nice, but like Butterfree, it's treasure in some areas, trash in others.
Caterpie shows up for the drawing. Erika's Bellsprout Lv. 15 is out of style, and this card is nothing more than a remake of that card. It can't stall, but with decent evolved forms, it might be useful somewhere.
Hoppip is next in line. It's nothing more than a Base Set Rattata with Fighting Resistance. That makes it bad.
Pineco is next up. Guys, selfdestruct didn't work before, and it doesn't work now, especially since it's even chancier on this guy.
Spinarak joins the group. Poison Sting is decent, he's almost usable, but his Hit Points are too low.
Now we have Weedle. He's better than the Base Set version, but still not that great since it's Poison or nothing.
So, Grass came with trash all the way through except the Caterpie family, and even with that said, the Caterpie family isn't good everywhere. Now:

Lightning:

Included cards:
Mareep
Huh? Lightning got the same kind of deal as Fire. It got only 1 Pokémon. Mareep just stinks people. This kind of attack stunk on Lt. Surge's Voltorb and stinks on Mareep.
Yes, Lightning got nothing but trash. Moving right along...

Psychic:

Included cards:
Espeon(Holo)
Unown A
Wobbuffet
Espeon(Rare)
Unown D
Unown F
Unown I
Unown M
Unown U
Unown E
Unown N
Unown O
Espeon(Holo) is being judged first. Psychic is nice, but there is Psychic Resistance almost everywhere, not to mention, he has poor speed. Probably won't see too much use.
Unown A arrives. Anger looks neat, but doesn't perform well, especially now with Damage Swap dead. And all Unowns have the lousy Hidden Power attack.
Wobbuffet walks up to be judged. Counter looks neat, but without an offensive attack to make up for it, it won't be played even with 90 HP.
Espeon(Rare) walks in. This is the inferior of the 2 Espeon. His attacks are worse. Quick Attack is just decent, and Confuse Ray is only okay. Not good enough.
Unown D dives in. This guy looks useful, and has scared away everything but Sneasel in the way of Darkness Pokémon, but alright, come back here Darkness Pokémon! With Igglybuff, you have nothing to fear!
Unown F floats in. The Pokémon Power is too much for too little. If you want something like this, use Computer Search or Item Finder.
Unown I in case we haven't noticed, is here. Many people will not use this card. I mean, it makes the Find Pokémon Power almost playable with Ruin Wall, but that's a lot of Unowns. Don't even bother.
Unown M makes its entrance. It looks neat, but since there is Igglybuff, how in the world can we get this guy's awesome power to work?
Unown U unveils itself. Undo is a very cool combo, since you'll have a defense against Colorless, a defense against Darkness, a way to save your endangered Pokémon, and a way to plan ahead(not that great). But, without Ruin Wall, it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to get it right. Plus, with 4 Unowns in a deck, starting with one could result in a disaster. It may or may not see play.
Unown E enters the ring. It works great in Trap decks with a built-in Imposter Oak's Revenge, but it has low HP. I still say it's worth playing, though.
Unown N is next. It has potential but Igglybuff has ruined him so far. So, who knows? He might just be trash.
Unown O orates for the audience. It's bad. It's nothing but a semi-Pokédex. Why was it even made?
So far, Psychic came with nothing but trash. Last, but not least:

Water:

Included cards:
Kabutops
Politoed
Poliwhirl
Corsola
Kabuto
Poliwag
Wooper
Kabutops you would think is useful. But, it's unreliable because you never know if Mysterious Fossil will or will not survive the onslaught. It has potential, but it's not in use right now.
Politoed requires a lot of luck. You'll have to get 4 Poliwags on the Bench, hope your opponent has a few, and then flip a few coins on the 2nd or 3rd turn. It's a Stage 2 that's too hard to get.
Poliwhirl is going to be involved in weird combos to attempt to make Politoed or Poliwrath or both playable. But, since it hurts itself and it's Grass-weak, it's unplayable.
Corsola has a nice defense attack, and the 2nd attack, well, is unreliable. He's too defensive for our tastes.
Kabuto is a card that is the reason Kabutops is unplayable. It has to evolve from Mysterious Fossil. The Pokémon Power is nice, but unreliable, and the attack is not that great. Think you could break it and Kabutops? Knock yourself out.
Poliwag has a nice Hypnosis, but Rollout stinks. With 40 HP, I'd suggest evolving quickly. But, with his weakness, he may not be playable.
Wooper, a nice card, but will be massively overlooked. Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, Water didn't get anything special either. Onto the next and last step:

Trainers:

Included cards:
Fossil Egg
Hyper Devolution Spray
Ruin Wall
Energy Ark
Fossil Egg is a decent card, but since it's a Trainer card that relies on a coin flip, I doubt it will work well.
Hyper Devolution Spray is a card that's highly situational. I can't think how to break it. You wanna try, knock yourself out!
Ruin Wall is decent when using Unown combos, and is nice in Unown decks, but that's assuming the Unowns survive Igglybuff.
Energy Ark is worse than Energy Search. It requires flipping coins for any effect, and is not incredible.
All in all, there were no useful Trainers. I could be wrong, but I can't see any of these Trainers being the best.

So, Neo Discovery has these good cards:
1. Igglybuff
2. Butterfree(not everywhere)
3. Metapod(Not everywhere)
4. Houndoom
5. Umbreon(Holo)
6. Unown E
7. Eevee
8. Caterpie(not everywhere)(the only reason why is because of who it evolves into)
9. Scizor
10. Houndour(Rare)
Well, that's my report for Neo Discovery.  I also have a little something I should say to everybody. I am a close friend of Murkrow, the guy who used to run Murkrow's Pokémon Deck Fixes. Well, his site has closed down forever. He wanted me to tell you all that because his Homestead Account is gone for good. And, unlikely for a card tips report, I have props and slops(for Murkrow):
Props:
--To Murkrow, for having a nice site
--To everyone who helped out on Murkrow's site

Slops:
--To the changes in Homestead, the main reason why Murkrow shut down
--To everybody who flamed Murkrow(he didn't give me any names, and I'm not gonna be mean and guess)
