"slops to everyone who had to play a deck that was already made for
them..."
This is a quote from where, I won't say. I need to get my point accross.
People think that they make a deck with a "new stratgey" and suddenly
call
all the great decks "unimaginative." Well, surprise!!! All deck ideas
come
from somewhere!!
Seriously. There is not just THAT raindance deck or THAT haymaker. There
are variations. Changes are made. Improvements are done. And the decks
continue to change. The way I figure it, all the decks that I have seen come
from one or more of these categiories;
Beatdown- This would include the fast, heavy-hitting, high hp decks that
are so popualr.
Raindance- These are the decks that use (duh) blastoise and his power,
either to power up others or for some other reason.
Anti-Everything-Includes the Muk decks, and the ever popular and sometimes
unreliable AreoMew combo.
Damage Swap/Decking- Alakazam, chansey, fossil gastly/haunter, moltres. All
these guys focus on decking and/or getting rid of damage.
Wiggly- Uses wigglytuff's Do The Wave as the main hitter.
Energy Denial- DUH. Poliwrath, etc. Basically focuses on removing energy
from the opponent.
Energy Trans/Burn- Venusaur/charizard decks, Use grass energy to power up
the big lizard and/or transfer it to others to attack/pokemon center without
discard.
Charizard- Yeah, there are still decks that focus on the big lizard.
See? There you have it. There may be combined strategy, but the main ideas
of decks have to come from somewhere. Thank you.
