First of all I'd like to say that Pojo is by far the best source of Pokemon information on the web.  Now on to the main part of this letter.

Pokemon Multiplayer Ideas-

-Gym Battle-
The "Gym Battle" is a simple multiplayer version of the Pokemon TCG.  It consists of two teams or "Gyms" which battle each other until one ends up victorious. Let's go over the game layout:

The usual game has six players.  Or two teams of three, one of the three is the "Gym Leader."  But games can be played with more.

The game should be played on a large table with enough room for all players to set up their Pokemon.  The "Gym trainers" usually sit on the outside while the "Gym Leader" sits in the middle.

Each player may only attack to their left or right.  This also applies to playing trainers.  Since each team is on one side of the table this also means you can attack your own team mates, or play trainers on them.  The only restrictions to this is you may not play the cards "Plus Power" "Defender" "Clefairy Doll" and "Mysterious Fossil" on your team mates.  So if your team mate has a doomed pokemon in the active position you may play the "Gust of Wind" or "Switch" card to exchange it with one of his benched pokemon.  If you are the "Gym Leader" this means you may only attack your own team-mates.  this is a very handy ability while playing.  If your team-mate has a bad hand.  Play that Oak your not using on him.

Each player on the teams has approximately 3--5 prizes.  These prizes may be given to other players on your team.  Example: Bob has one prize left while Jim is in fine shape with four.  Jim may "Transfer" as many prizes as he likes to Bob.  To do this you simply shuffle the amount of prizes you wish to transfer into your deck.  Then the person who you are transfering them to draws an equal amount and places them with their prizes.  Also if one team has more or less players than another, just equalize the prizes.  Example: Team one has three players while Team two has four.  This means that Team one would have four prizes per player while Team two would have three prizes per player.

Now the losing team is the team that loses all of their prizes first, or has their "Gym Leader" eliminated from the game first.  In the rare event of a tie the two "Gym Leaders" would play a normal sudden death one prize game.

Now on to the little glitches.
-Self Destruct only effects your benched pokemon, your active pokemon, your target's active pokemon, and your targets benched pokemon.

-Poison only takes effect on the "Poisoner's" turn and the "Poisonee's" turn.

-When it is your turn the "Ditto" card is played by choice, he can be Transformed into either player to your left or rights active pokemon.  He remains that way until your next turn at which he may transform again.

-Global effects like "Aerodactyl" are only affected to your left and right.

-Damage Swap, and other similar powers may only be used on your own pokemon.

I know there are some glitches I havn't covered in detail.  But this is the basics.  The main thing is play those questionable attacks with the main theory that you may only affect your left and right.  Questions? Send your questions to: jt_mugs@juno.com
