Greetings Pojosamaniacs! I've noticed a very positive change in the TCG
Strategies page. People are stopping rants about archetypes, but instead are
helping each other beat them. I have come up with the ultimate way to kill
off all archetypes, perhaps permanently. It's quite simple: teach younger
players how to win NOT by using archetypes. There's probably little you can
do to change the minds of older players who use them, they're mature enough
to make their own decisions about what to use. For little kids, however,
they don't have much of a choice. They don't know how to win against the
more skilled players, so they find out what kind of decks those people use,
and play with those, now with a greater chance of winning. Find some members
of the next generation of TCG players and teach them you don't need a
Wigglytuff or Scyther or Electabuzz or Hitmonchan in your deck to have a
winning record. It may or may not be too late for us to stop the archetype
juggernaut now, but when the little kids grow up to be the older players,
the new players should be able to see that there is clearly no one way to
win, thus stopping the archetype wave(No Wiggly pun intended) to continue.
Remember, a wise man once said, "The strongest trainer is not the one who
wins all his matches; it is the one who wins most matches and can teach
others to do the same."
