Yo, what up? I'm sort of in the mood to go
over all the most popular and successful archetypes and tips on beating them.
let's take a look, shall we?
HAYMAKER: The only archetype I DON'T
like. The mindless jabbing and special punching and energy removal just
gets more boring and boring to play. Quite mindless. My tips on
fighting these decks are LASS and TEAM ROCKET SNEAK ATTACK, and lots of them.
GAYmakers use about 23-26 trainers and Lass & Sneakattack gets rid of em
all...for the moment. However this will make the opponent's deck full
and you will deck out. my best strategy against haymaker? Just
play against them a lot. you'll get used to 'em just like i did.
Haymaker has lots of: hitmonchan, electabuzz,
scyther, ER, SER, itemfinder, scoop up
RAINDANCE: Ah yes. The great raindance.
my opinion the funnest deck to play. I always love to borrow my
brother's raindance and just test it out a lil', freezedry kill, blizzard
kill, mmm fun *drooling* but that's beside the point. RainDance is
EXTREMELY weak to lass. lass away those breeders, searches and SER's!
WHOOPIE! I can't tell you how many times i have won doing that.
Lass on the 1st or 2nd turn, depending on who goes first(if you go first, lass
on the 2nd).
RainDance has lots of: SER, breeder, cpu search,
Blastoise, Articuno, Lapras, Dewgong, MAYBE Gyarados now that the TR Magikarp
is out
STALL: never tried this deck vefore, but my
friend tried it and he said it was really stupid. You just sit there for
an hour stalling and stalling and stalling...well *i* can't judge it b/c i
never tried it. noone plays stall in my area because there is a time
limit of 20 munites for each game, but i'd say you should use gambler in your
deck. gambler shuffles your hand in your deck so your deck may just be
larger than theirs!
What to see in stall: Pokecenter, scoop up,
chansey, alakazam, Mr. Mime
POTPOURRI: I've never tried this deck either
, nor have i seen it being played, so i can't make any judgements. It
seems to be a lot like haymaker so do the same thing i said for hay, but this
time pack a lot of energy removal cuz they run 3 colors. Looks like a
great deck though.
What to see in Potpourri: Hitmonchan, Buzz,
Scyther, Mr. Mime, scoop up, energy retrieval, gust of wind
WIGGLY: I've got one of these myself, and
boy do i luv it. But one major weakness i have had is my weakness to
fighting. Attack jigglypuff with a jab and two pluspowers and you won't
have to see a fully charged wiggly.
What to see in Wiggly: Wigglytuff, Most 70HP
basics, Lass
BENCH DESTRUCTION: This is a good deck.
It's psy fighting, and the pokemon are energy intensive, so i would reccomend
ER and lots of it!
What to see in Bench Destruction: hitmonlee,
gengar, hypno, hitmonchan, GOW, Energy Removal
ENERGY TRANS: I have one of these myself and
it's the funnest deck to play i have! Why else do i call myself the
grass king and have a grass pokemon website? What really POed me is
super energy removal. Use 4 SER and itemfinders as well.
What to find in energy trans: Venusaur, Exeggutor,
chansey, scyther, PKMN Center, scoop up
ENERGY REMOVAL: Not too common, I have this
deck myself. I must admit, it's pretty sweet! But one major
weakness: weak basics. Dratini sucks, and psyduck ain't all that, nor is
Eevee(new vaporeon). Knock out all the basics of the deck before they
can evolve.
What to find in ER: ER, SER, Golduck, draginair,
vaporeon, itemfinder
Later everyone!
