This is Gelati reporting. I have been using a making decks with and around grass types ever since the almighty (LAAAA) Venusaur. Now i have so many decks that revolve around this such overated type. Of all the types in the game I think grass is the most underated type in the game. I mean, look at it. I will look at each type and tell why they are played more.

Colorless - Well you see Chansey, Wigglytuff, and now days Erika's Jigglypuff. They are some of the most played cards in the game.

Psychic - Now psychic never used to be played much but has always been played more than grass. In the old days you saw Base Mewtwo, Mr. Mime, and Alakazam. Now days you see many more than there ever used to be. They are not the most played type but they are up there. You see now days Sabrina's Gengar (both of em'), Sabrina's Alakazam, Movie Mewtwo, and Rocket's Mewtwo.

Electric - Electric........... ahhhhhhhhh.... Now there's a  type that is in the middle. Now back then you saw Raichu, Zapdos, and the all mighty (in others words) Electabuzz. I and many others still see electric types now days. You can see Dark Raichu, Lt. Surge's Electabuzz, and the broken to death Rocket's Zapdos.

Water - WOW! Raindance. One of the origianal (bla on spelling) archtypes. When I first saw this I was amazed by its power. Back then there were Blastoise (the king of water), Gyarados, and Vaporeon. Well now days the you hardly see raindances anymore. The only water decks now days are decks based around the new Gyaradoss' (Misty's and Giovonni's) and some around Misty's Seadra. Water is probably 2nd on the least played type list.

Fighting - A long time ago (actually about when base set came out) fighting was one of the most played types ever. Hitmonchan was a threat to most pokemon. He could knock out Wigglytuff easier than anyone. Besides him was the quick hitting Machop. Now days the only fighting types around (but certainly not least played) are Rocket's Hitmonchan. This guy made the base set Hitmonchan look little. With crosscounter to take out quick hitters easy. Sometimes I see a base set Hitmonchan here and there but pretty much they are becoming slowly extinct to decks these days.

Fire - Back when the base set came out, there was a card named Charizard. Many people played him but soon found him to be no good and then he came back. Now days you see many Charizard's. Blaine's inparticular. Many fire types are played now days. Especially Blaine's pokemon. With the addition of Cinnabar Island Gym to the trading card game Blaine's fire types are becoming more widely spread. You see Blaine's Moltres, Rocket's Moltres, Blaine's Charizard, and Blaine's Magmar.

Now, all the types above are all played more than grass types now days. I have always tried different things in pokemon. Now this is probably my most different. Now days you see Giovanni's Nidoking + Nidoqueen and the most played grass type today, Rocket's Scyther. Rocket's Scyther took the place of the good ole' Jungle one because of its stalling ability with Mirror Image.

I chose a different grass route than most choose. Many choose to use grass types like Jungle Scyther because of its versitility. I sent myself on a mission to discover the power of grass types that are overlooked by so many.

My mission began when Base Set came out. Venusaur produced a trio of decks that I created revolving around him. His pokemon power proved to many of my foes that he was not to be underestimated.

I new that pokemon cards had come from japanese versions of their cards. By the time Neo came out I had 5 Grass ONLY decks working. I started looking into this new set of pokemon and new types too. I was amazed at some of the grass types! But the neo pokemon that caught my attention most was ..... Meganium! It's pokemon power , Luxiourious Growth, Doubled all grass energy! This was my card from square one. Once I met this card we were unseperable. I started to collect them. I found enough ( 7 ! ) to make a handfull of decks. I took my 3 most reliable and favorite grass pokemon, Meganium, Venusaur, and Exeggutor. I threw them together and VIOLA! The Triple Threat! (a deck created by me on the 2nd day Meganium was availible to me) I consider myself the creator of the deck because of the short amount of time (2 days) it took me to make it. It's called The Energy Overload!
You combine Venusaur's and Meganium's Pokemon Powers to double then move all energy to Exeggutor. Then the fun (or evil) begins. I would be wrecking wiggly's, raindances, and many others with up to 12 flips with and average of (50%) 120 Damage a turn! I would be able to do this by the 6th od 7th turn.

Now I hope this "talk" we've had has changed your thoughts about "powerful" types. I still belive in grass pokemon. I have 9 decks of grass types only and they are all my most played decks too.

REMINDER!!!!!!         NEVER......... EEEVER...... Underestimate a type again!
